Re: Jennings appreciation thread
Was not super thrilled with the BK/Jennings trade, but said at the time I was willing to reserve judgement and let it play out. Jennings definitely changed my mind. But honestly what impressed me the most and the reason I will continue to root for him is because of his professionalism while here. He grew up a lot the past few years and I sincerely hope he's able to make a full recovery and become the player he should be. Best of luck to him.

Re: Jennings appreciation thread
Jennings was nothing but professional during his time in Detroit. He embraced Detroit fully and Detroit embraced him. I thought he could have been a long term option until he got injured and we got RJ for peanuts. I hope he makes a full come back for another team and succeeds wherever he lands.

I agree with this 100%. He came in with the deck stacked against him -- a coaching carousal, a lackluster roster, and a fanbase that was largely skeptical of his acquisition. Unlike Josh Smith, he put his head down and worked, and while it didn't always connect, I think fans here will always remember his incredible run last year and his professionalism after tearing his ACL.
The Brandon Jennings we were told we were getting, an immature me-first player, never would have had a run like that and could have been a huge distraction throughout his injury and upon his return. Instead, he matured into a player who just wanted to win -- whether that meant a full stat line for him or a DNP.
Good luck to you Brandon. You made a lot of what we are today, and what we will be, possible.

Yep he's worthless out there tbh. People put too much stock into him saving our season
Could you please clear this up, 'cuz I'm really having trouble following your logic — you think we should have traded someone other than the guy you called "worthless?" Or did Jennings show you so much in the last 18 days that you did a 180 on your opinion?
I mean, it's either that or you're just a toll disguised as a pessimist, right?
I think it's pretty clear what Maker is at this point.
The amazing part is he's still here.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Re: Jennings appreciation thread
I used to hate Jennings, like really hate him, especially when Khris Middleton was killing it in Milwaukee and we were dealing with that clown show.
His 180 made me take a complete 180 to about him. I don't know what happened that made him change so suddenly but I was really rooting for him during that 7 game win streak. Probably a month earlier I was raging on the guy calling him a D-leaguer on another forum.
Now I miss him
but I mean, we got Tobias Harris for him so it all worked out in the end

Re: Jennings appreciation thread
He was the heartbeat of our run last year. I used to dislike him. Jennings won me over. He was a true professional here.

Sad to see Jennings go, one of my favourite players from the Pistons in recent years

Re: Jennings appreciation thread
not going to lie before the injury and the run i was very much against broaden jennings, but he grew a lot, and proved me and a lot of people wrong. in the end i was upset to see him go, but i understand. he was one hell of a teammate, and i hope he gets his chance in orlando.
