Recent write-ups on KB24:

Kent Bazemore remembers the number 499. The Atlanta Hawks guard once had it stitched into his shoes as a reminder of his spot on ESPN's NBA rankings before his rookie season.

“It's a very special number,” Bazemore said. Out of 500 players, I was ranked the 499th one.”

Bazemore remembers going undrafted. In hindsight, he sees it as a blessing, but he was upset at first.

ESPN's Zach Lowe asked a dozen executives how much Bazemore will command, and their answers ranged “from the mid-level exception, to $12 million, to ‘who the hell even knows?'” Bazemore thinks he's still scratching the surface of what he can be, but hasn't lost sight of how far he's come.

The Atlanta Hawks will have two key pieces on their 2015-16 roster enter unrestricted free agency this summer in starting center Al Horford and starting small forward Kent Bazemore. It’s not a popular thought, but if Atlanta has to pick between Horford and Bazemore like they had to between Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll last summer, it’s probably best to pick Kent Bazemore.

Of any player currently on the Atlanta Hawks’ roster, Kent Bazemore is the one starter that hasn’t fully reached his potential. Bazemore went from a guy who never played for Golden State as a defensive specialist to the best three-point shooter on the 2015-16 Atlanta Hawks. He’s shown this season that he can start at the three and carry the offense if need be. Essentially, it’ll be difficult for the Atlanta Hawks to find another wing player of Kent Bazemore’s caliber on the free agent market...

From Yahoo Sports Podcast:
•The Hawks aren’t entirely sure that Al Horford will re-sign in free agency this summer, and they’re making it a priority to re-sign fellow soon-to-be free agent Kent Bazemore, too, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports says in his “The Vertical” podcast

With Justin Holliday being dealt away in the Kirk Hinrich trade, does this guarantee Hawks will (and should?) do anything to re-sign Bazemore this summer?

Gotta be honest, we have to make a decent effort to keep him....but I think breaking the bank for him would be foolish. $8 - 10 million offer to retain him is the highest I'd go. I do like KB. But his success signals to me we can take journeyman and turn them into rotation players consistently.
