I'm not sure we really need Sabonis. If our scorers are going to be Warren and Booker going forward, while it would be useful to have a big with a great post game, what we'd need more than anything else is rim protection and the ability to hit the 3 and space the floor. I think we should go for a more mobile, athletic big like Rabb before Sabonis. Just my opinion.

He is a rebounder, strong, as fundamentally sound as you will find, very quick with his feet, can defend both interior and out to the free throw line, huge motor. Low post scoring is actually pretty low in his strengths.

Just watched the highlights of him posted in the trade thread. He is usually listed as PF but doesn't he plays more like center? All his points come in the paint in this video.

Being guarded by guys 3-4 inches shorter, usually. Makes me wonder if his rebounding numbers are inflated.

I really like Rabb, but I think he is gonna be in the Top 10 for sure. If he is available when we pick we need to take him.

Sabonis is really good but his upside is lower. He reminds me of Motiejunas...and a player of that caliber in the late lottery is a good selection.

That's fair, although they have played some decent teams. His rebounding numbers are phenomenal, which is the most quickly translatable skill.

I think he is a better looking player than Ellenson, at least at first examination. I reserve the right to change my mind later. Ellenson is longer, but his running stride seems awkward to me.

Deyonta Davis/Brice Johnson are other PFs that will probably be available with the Washington pick but I'd rather take a flyer on Skal if he declares

Simmons really does remind me more and more of a hybrid Evan Turner and Blake Griffin.

He runs like Griffin with about 75% of the athleticism and strength... Has the skills similar to that of Evan Turner.

My biggest concern is that.. He will likely be worse defender than Griffin at the PF spot.. Mainly because of the lack of length, and inferior athleticism and strength compared to Griffin.

I'm with you. The first name that came to mind when watching Simmons was a smaller, quicker Blake. Is he too small for a pf? I see him more as a three. Michael Beasley was another name. Beasley dominated opponents in college. I actually like Ingram more. The dude is smooth. Long with a great shot. I think he will be the better player. The Durant comparisons are real. Not quite there. He's legit though.

That's the main thing today. Unless you are a huge physical presence at the 5 these days, you almost HAVE to be able to hit the 3, or at least have some range, or you almost don't fit into today's game.

Simmons can still work.

He will need to become Draymond Green like... As in build up strength so he can bang PFs using his body.. And not get called for fouls... He wont get much blocks or change shots using his arms... He needs to get a strong base and body to get PFs out of their comfort zone.

Offensively.. He can play up top and apply pressure from face ups and driving pass slower players.

I really like Nigel Hayes out of Wisconsin. 6'7, with 7'3 wingspan. Sort of like a do-it-all guy. Has 3 point range, and can play the 3 and 4. Uses his length well on D>

Would be a good get at the Cavs pick.

Deyonta will probably stay one more year to play with Bridges/Langford/maybe JJ? next year.
He's the real deal... really good prospect.
