I'm crying a bit on the inside if we had the I's dotted but not the T's crossed on a Butler deal. That's a gut punch - and it sounds like that is the predicament.

Dude, it was a fake. Bulls fan photoshopped it as a prank on other Bulls fans pre-deadline.

Wow...smh. That's some good photoshopping

Wonder what this place would have looked like if we moved the BKN pick for Winslow.

Good find. Still think it was Butler though. If you eliminate all rumored players, non All-Stars, and guys not worth the BK pick it's either PG or Butler, and LBF is hearing it was JB.

IMO you always take Butler for just that Nets pick. The chance is way higher were not able to pick Ingram or Simmons, not even saying they havent proven anything on NBA level just yet. It's Cousins or die for you I guess ;-)

Or Ainge is lying/spreading misinformation and it was one of the rumored players. I don't think we have any confidence in tea-leaf readings at this moment.

There will always be rumors and side talk from Danny, but I don't think he'd touch that deal until after the lottery. Too risky. That pick landing number 1 or 2 would be awful. I think theres an extremely short list of players he'd move that pick for.

We're talking about 3-4 or so prime years left of Butler.

Well now....aside from keeping an eye on Brooklyn and Dallas, we now must keep an eye on Chicago and hope they suck the rest of the season lol so we can have them as insurance in case they decide to blow it up after the season and we don't get Simmons or Ingram.

I was just thinking....didnt Ainge say he had a "packaged" deal in place...packaged being the key term. Maybe they had a deal in place to acquire both Butler & Gasol.

You don't want to keep up the trade thread tradition of baseless speculation?

The guy is the best 2 guard in the league, is a two-way player and would fit in perfectly personality wise, signed to a ridiculously reasonable deal for four more years and is only 26/27. What more could you want out of a top 3-5 pick?

I honestly don't get these answers either. It's like a perfect match to me.

Given the JB deleted tweet, and the inside info from LBF, which are both on the previous page,I think it's safe to say it was Butler.

Is that a legit picture of the tweet?

I would really enjoy reading transcripts of some of these conversations between GM's. It would be nice to gauge more accurately what goes into some of these conversations. Chicago would have done well if they could have traded Gasol/Butler/Rose for picks and young guys. Would have been really weird to go from rooting for Brooklyn to lose to kind of rooting for them to win.

My dream defensive lineup of Smart/Bradley/Butler/Crowder/Mickey would have been so great to watch.

Cousins, Butler or Harden would be my guess.

Would have been crazy...Bradley/Amir/Sully/Young/Nets2016....for Butler and Gasol.
