Stan Van Gundy Appreciation Thread

Post#1 » by Bakuto » Thu Feb 18, 2016 6:04 pm

Sorry if we already have one of these, guys. But I think SVG is my favourite person on the planet.

Thank you for everything, Stan.

Also, remember the folks who doubted and lost faith in him for picking Johnson > Winslow?

I love this team. We just got two more youth foundation pieces to add to our already exciting young nucleus.

Any doubters now? 8-)

Stan has been my favorite coach in the NBA for about 8 years. Now, he is my favorite GM as well.

Stan Is God.

Eh, I dunno. Something tells me he's working his ass off, stressing out, and not enjoying much of anything. Dude is a maniac in terms of preparation and frets about everything.

I know what you mean. He has survived it quite a while and keeps coming back for more, so I guess he must be having some fun. So far so good.

He is able to compile a team of players he wants instead of coaching a team of players given to him. That has to be fun.

I was happy with him as coach but I wasn't expecting him to do this good as GM. He has been very good GM so far.

He has to be enjoying himself. He doesn't have to take any **** from any of the players, or they get traded to Sacramento :-)

Which is why I think he's enjoying it, he's in control and doing things his way. And so far, it's looking like it's working. This is what he wanted :)

He's collecting a lot team talent. Practices are going to be tougher. Talent makes for great practice sessions, which is often huge confidence. Come on Playoff race!

A week + without ball. ERGHHHH

SVG is the hero this team needs, and the one it deserves after all of the hardships the past 8 years or so. Sometimes when I close my eyes I can still see Josh Smith airballing that jump shot against the Knicks in the final seconds down by one.
