Holy sh*** what's going on in Leverkusen.

Dortmund scores the 1-0 after taking a fast free kick a couple meters in front of the foul.
Then Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt was arguing a bit too much for the liking of the ref and he tells him to go into the stands.
Schmidt refuses to do so and the ref just stops the game, running into the changing rooms.

I guess that's going to be quite a few games of suspension for Schmidt...

I'm not sure what's more ridiculous. No_20's antiquated sexism, or Bayer Leverkusen's whininess getting the refs to walk off the pitch.

Its the sexism. Have to expect this stuff from Lolverkusen.

It'll be a tough challenge for the new guy Rouven Schröder right away.
Malli is gone with his 9 mil. € release clause unless he completely sucks the remainder of this season.

Muto, Karius, Bell, Jairo and maybe Baumgartlinger will most likely receive offers for a big paycheck as well.

Probably, half the core players will be gone again.

I dunno. No_20 posts like a 50 year old Massi already, so the sexism's kinda expected from him. Whereas I've never seen the Refs actually leave the pitch like that, even if they were dealing with Vizekusen.

Völler and Schmidt leading the pack in an utter display of class and sportsmanship for Leverkusen today. Classy all the way

Well they have every right to be upset. Zwayer flat out deliberately refused to give them a clear handball penalty.

Zwayer was completely overburdened with this game anyway. Terrible referee.

Schmidt was already sent to the stands by the time that call wasn't made. And given how whiny Leverkusen had been leading up to that call, many refs wouldn't have given them the benefit of the doubt seeing how Sokratis threw his arm out as part of his leap, long before the ball hit it.

Eh, a 50 year old Massi is like a 150 year old normal person

Eh, if Leverkusen had acted with some class prior to the incident, they probably get a penalty there as Sokratis' arm was way out and in an awkward position that plenty of refs could view as unnatural.

Just checked the 2. Bundesliga table.

Imagine if RB Leipzig and St. Pauli went up the same year. Capitalists and communists celebrating at the same time for the first time ever.

That's the beauty of this sport.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

This is football? Blatant handballs get ignored all the time. Should we start complaining about diving too?

I'm not saying anyone should be complaining. Just that lmao was an over-the-top reaction to what very easily could've been called a handball if Leverkusen hadn't pissed off the refs with their bitching.

If we're discussing handballs we have to discuss non-sendoffs for Leverkusen as well. Belarabi (or however the hell you spell that) should've been either sent off directly for his altercation with Sokratis or in sum for it along with his constant complaining and a range of yellow card worthy fouls. Kießling, Wendell and Chicharito couldn't have complained about getting a second yellow card each either.

The handball penalty was long after Schmidt was ejected and hence completely irrelevant to this discussion. Plus I'm almost sure it hits Sokratis chest first and then touches his forearm in the process of going out of bounds. Yes you can definitely call that a penalty but I guess it's a 50-50 ball in real life.

Either way absolutely classless yet again what Leverkusen have demonstrated today. You should expect more in terms of professionalism from 50+ year old executives and 20+ year old men on the pitch.

Anyone being surprised by the way Vicekusen acts probably hasn't followed them a lot.
Of course, I can't judge anyone about that given that this plastic club doesn't have a lot of following anyways.

Still, if they'd be serious about their perception by the media and football fans, they'd keep Völler from post match interviews.
This guy's become a real clown and his antics are just so bad, it isn't even funny.

Foye wrote:Heidel to Schalke is confirmed btw. :nonono:

Well, that was to be expected.
Will be interesting to see how Schröder does for you guys and if you're able to keep up the good scouting/work to stay a solid member of the Bundesliga.
It will also be interesting to see how Heidel will do outside of his familar environment of Mainz. Especially with Tönnies always lurking in the background and loving to show his face to every camera known to mankind.

BTW: Dortmund can now plan for next season's champions league campaign, being 16 points clear of 4th place.
And that race for those international spots(3-7, as long as Bremen doesn't win the cup) will be interesting as well.
It's just a five point gap between 3rd and 8th place in the table.

Oh, and again, I'm not sure why the hell Schaaf took that Hannover job. They're done and that's because they've gotten worse for quite a few seasons and I also don't get Martin Kind and his decisions about sporting directors etc.
He's currently employing Martin Bader, who was run out of Nürnberg because he couldn't get the job done there and as soon as he left the club, FCN started winning games...
