I don't know, but I'd be happy to see where he ends up in two years, and to see if he can be better than him. But a little lesser version wouldn't be bad either.

From another thread:
Dr Positivity wrote:Just to point out, Bender's per 40 numbers are better than expected. Here is what I have for per 40 averages for Bender and last year's Porzingis

Bender - 1.6 steals, 2.3 blocks, 6.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 14.5 points, .57 TS
Porzingis - 1.7 steals, 1.9 blocks, 8.6 rebounds, 1 assists, 20.5 points, .58 TS

His combination of steals, blocks and assists is pretty good and his scoring could be worse. Notably Porzingis played twice the games and twice the minutes and had a real responsibility on his team.

But after looking at it I wouldn't call Bender's real numbers as disastrous enough to freak out about.

Better passer, better feel for the game, more mobile and fluid as an athlete, better defensive versatility, better ballhandling.
They are not that similar other than been big white euros who have high upside and can shoot.

How is per40 a barometer for anything? Nobody plays 40 minutes per anymore.

Maybe not, but I do like that he is 2 years younger than Porzingis was (or is now) so that bodes well for his upside.

My first round prospects ranked by roles would go as follow,

Ball-Handlers

Kris Dunn
Wade Baldwin IV
Melo Trimble
Demetrius Jackson
Tyler Ulis

Wings

Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot
Furkan Korkmaz
Malik Newman
Jamal Murray
Buddy Hield
Denzel Valentine
Grayson Allen
Patrick McCaw
Isaia Cordinier
Malik Beasley
Caris LeVert
Dwayne Bacon

Swings

Brandon Ingram
Ben Simmons
Jaylen Brown
Juancho Hernangómez
Taurean Prince

Bigs

Dragan Bender
Ivan Rabb
Jakob Poeltl
Damian Jones
Henry Ellenson
Ivica Zubac
Skal Labissiere
Diamond Stone
Domantas Sabonis
Stephen Zimmerman
Robert Carter Jr.
AJ Hammons
Petr Cornelie

With 4 picks in the top35 you should diversify your resources and get multipositional guys, especially in the frontcourt, plus some international guys for draft&stash.

Disgraceful how? Simmons simply did not look like he cared one bit about winning or losing. Seemed primarily concerned w/ just looking cool.

You never want to overreact to one game, so we'll have to see how Ben Simmons responds in the next few weeks. Tonight was just disgraceful.

All you need to know about LSU's current state can be seen as timeouts get called. Bench absolutely lifeless. Ben Simmons by himself on end.

This is going to be a game tape teams study closely. How does Ben Simmons respond to adversity? Not everything always goes your way in NBA.

Watching game, Ben Simmons looks checked out, seems to be going through motions. Has 5 turnovers. Hasn't bent his knees once on defense yet.

Well then...

As I said before, these type of stuff scares me. He can easily be like a LBJ-Tmac hybrid, or he can just as easily be like Beas-Odom-BigCroissant.

On another topic, Deyonta Davis looks legit. Like a very very poor man's Anthony Davis. Dude is raw as sushi but he has great physical tools and instincts. Hope we can get him with the WAS pick.

I doubt DDavis declares, he is raw, the Spartans are bringing in a big class and he could be the guy next season, plus he is an Izzo guy, those stay longer.

Agreed. Well for our sake at least, i hope he declares this year. Staying in school would definitely improve his stock.

Im intrigued that you have Timothe Luwawu over guys like Murray, Korkmaz and Hield.

I wouldn't be surprised if Buddy Hield ended up going no.3

There's not much around there, so putting up Curry numbers isn't going to look any worse as time gets closer.

He is compared here to Odom, Diaw, Griffin, Beasley and a bit to LeBron.
Hope he won't have Beasley's mentality or Diaw's appetite.

Simmons on a team like the Warriors... Basically next to the best 3pter of all time and 2nd best shooter in the NBA... Would be a beasty player...

On a team that requires him to carry them or be a top 2 option.... He is likely to dissappoint.

Who in this draft fills the mold of long, athletic, defensive-minded, versatile wing? I would love to pair Booker with Kawhi-type player. Could Brown be this guy?

Jaylen Brown - according to draftexpress and nbadraft.net. Should be there if we are picking 4-5.

If we somehow get Simmons I'm hiring MDA and going overboard on shooters. That would be fantastically entertaining even if we give up 110+. I remember how badly I wanted LBJ to go to NY in 2010 just to see the extreme pace.

My dream scenario:
Suns wins the lottery, pick Simmons
Then they trade Bledsoe to get Brown

Fastbreaks with Simmons and Brown would be mad 8-)

Knight would probably dribble the ball off his foot looking down and commit a turnover before he could even push the break.Simmons is a great playmaker in the open court but he won't immediately excel in a halfcourt setup as a primary ballhandler so he ideally needs a PG who can take some of the pressure off of him

not really draft related but who do you guys like in free agency. I personally think Batum is a realistic option. Solid playmaker who should fit well in our offense.

I dont get the love about Jaylen Brown.
Sure he's athletic as hell and can block shots. Am i missing something?
