I don't understand why people here want to trade Lou Williams. His contract isn't bad, and he is a proven 6th man, and a great scorer.

Lakers had plenty reason to trade Lou, not sure why anyone would be confused about why some would want him traded.
What I don't understand is people thinking the lakers should've "dumped" Lou as if his contract was a negative and he had negative value.

Re: Official Trade Deadline Thread 02/18/2016
Lakers didn't make any move...
Didn't dump Nick Young...
Didn't trade Lou to someone that could use him
Didn't trade bass
Didn't acquire any further assets...
Lou Williams is a solid rotation guy, 6th man of the year kinda guy. Pretty much every team needs someone to fill that role...
Lakers have Clarkson, who is basically younger Lou, who should be the lakers long term answer as 6th man, combo guard, instant offense off the bench guy.
Hey, maybe we keep Lou, and trade Clarkson if a team is really high on him. To have both, is inefficient, and a waste.
Lakers needed to dump Nick, which they needed to attach an asset to, they could have pulled a small asset trading Lou or Bass

USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

It is a negative. Why are we signing these 30 yr old mediocre players that just steal minutes from dlo and clarkson. Aside from that it also kills our flexibility. Look at how Portland used their cap space to take in varejao for a pick. We will never put ourselves in a position to do that when we sign scrubs like lou and young and trade for hibbert. I'd rather sign some guy out of the d league and pray he is the next Jonathan Simmons than spend 7 a year on lou and kill our flexibility.

Right now, Jordan Clarkson is the best and most consistent player on the team. He is young, has great attitude, work ethics, is till improving, and will only get better. Why don't we wait till we get at least one player better than him, before we relegate him to the bench.

Him and bass were only positive value players we should trade

Re: Official Trade Deadline Thread 02/18/2016
It now depends on our off-season transactions if Lou will be traded or not. Bass will probably opt out and Hibbert's gone although I would love for him to come back but not as a starter and in the right price. He seems to have positive impact with the team in a "locker room guy/mentor" role.
