would you trade Randle for Okafor?
Randle and Okafor both have been a bit underwhelming to me. I think Randle would fit good with the 76ers, and I think we could use Okafor once Kobe is gone.
Would you guys do it if given the chance? Both are not good defenders, but Randle is a better rebounder, while Okafor might be a better scorer.
I like Okafor's game over Randle. I know Randle can still be very special, I just think Okafor fits better. I also thought Russell and Okafor had some chemistry in the rising stars game.
I don't see Randle and Russell playing well together at all. I could see Randle alongside Joel though.

Re: would you trade Randle for Okafor?
Game has evolved and low post C with no d is out dated.....ok4 is better than randle but all the metrics says ok4 negatively effects team ball, he is a negative +/- with every pairing on the sixers especially the major one with noel. Id trade randle for less talent but better fit over better talent but worser fit. Phi fans can use all the rhetoric bout ok4 can play the 4, will get better on d, etc. but at end of the day its not worth the effort to build a team around ok4 type

Who is the better rebounder? Who has the better handle? Who is the better passer? Who has the better motor?

No. Okafor kills any value he brings offensively with his defense.

at first I would have, but then I read that him being on the floor pretty much negates everything else, so probably not.

Both are my favourite, probably, but eh i'll try to move Clarkson for him first.
Okafor is the most advanced low post freshman prospect coming out of draft in the past, well i don't know, even Cousins wasn't as good as him.
He always winning in his whole life, never failed to met the expectations. Led his team to win National Championship as freshman. It's no joke.
His attitude alarming tho, a bit immature but still an intriguing player.

I'd do that in a hot second and I'm not even a big Okafor fan. He has fewer holes in his game than Randle as of now and he has one very high level skill.

In a vacuum, Okafor is the better player. With that said, I'd be very concerned about his fit with the style of play we should be implementing. We should be an up tempo team with a mobile, pick and roll center who defends the rim. Okafor is a half court scorer through and through, who does not defend the rim. I'd pass.

Phil tried to work a deal for OK4 just before the draft. Pat Riley called about him a couple of weeks ago. Danny Ainge just told the press he thinks he got close and will stay on it. But what do they know?

They know they were going to lowball phi? Phi also tried to gauge his value and listened to offers, what does phi know that the rest doesn't? Do you think minn listens to offers for kat or nyk for porzingis?

are the wolves and knicks hiding more center prospects than they're letting on? the sixers have 3. (ok, technically, they have to wait on Embiid, to make sure he can hold up. but if he does, his ceiling is off the chart.) KAT, KP and OK4 all coming out the same draft is pretty amazing, though.

Then why aren't they gauging value on noel? Hes the least skilled of the 3

Re: would you trade Randle for Okafor?
If we treat players as pure assets Okafor has more value than Randle.
Ultimately I wouldn't do the trade for fit purposes as I don't think Russell and Okafor can play together (and I think Russell is more suited for the modern game). A dominant offensive C just doesn't hold as much value as it did 5-10 years ago.

Re: would you trade Randle for Okafor?
Not sure why people think Ok4 is a better player than Randle... He's doing less while essentially being featured on a team...
Randle's averaging more rebounds, assists and steals, on less minutes... Ok4 scores more... But not enough to overshadow his other deficiencies... He's slightly more efficient... But he should be at his position and size.
Ok4's started all but 5 games this season, and has worse Defensive numbers, as a Center... And with a usage % of 27.4 compared to 21.9 compared to Randle. For reference, Durant is at 29.8 USG %.
And that's comparing the whole season... I'm sure the numbers would be better for Randle if you just looked at the stretch since he got his starting job back.
Okafor's a good talent, and I'd love to have him on the team but I have to question guys who think he's better right now than Randle. Or would trade Randle for him.

Re: would you trade Randle for Okafor?
It's pretty simple, we should try to get the better player between the two, which should be Okafor.
Randle is a good player who looks like he is a better fit for today's more speed based NBA on paper, but there are also a number of holes in his game as well. He lacks any kind of shot blocking ability, which means he is strictly a four going forward, and incapable of playing the five; His jump shot is still a work in progress; He plays horrible 1 on 1 defense where his man routinely puts up big time scoring games against him, negating all of his offensive contributions.
Okafor has the low post game that very few players in the NBA have. I know explosive shot blockers who can run the floor and dunk is all the rage in the NBA these days, but having a true low post scorer is still valuable to any franchise. A guy who can score down the low post consistently allows his team to dictate the pace of the game. Teams can't just run at you when they are bleeding points in the paint every possession. They also can't start fast breaks as well when you shoot a high percentage against them. For all the flack he catches, Okafor is also a pretty good rebounder who also blocks his fair share of shots. His negative impact ratings has a lot to do with the players around him as well, since he and Noel really can't play together.
At this particular point in time, our first goal is to accumulate as much talent as possible and figure out the fit later. System and style can always be changed, but changing a bad player into a good one is much much more challenging. So yeah, I would do the trade i a heart beat.

This is false....every personel combo that doesnt involve ok4 has better net negative or in most cases with noel purely at c and no ok4 its a big net positive

Re: would you trade Randle for Okafor?
No I would not. Randle has a higher ceiling, is still developing, and down the line, would net better trade value. Trading Randle for Okafor wouldn't change much for the Lakers, except take the ball out of Clarkson and Russells hands more. Would I trade Noel or a healthy Embiid for Randle? Absolutely, but neither of those are likely to happen. Although Randle and Noel would compliment each other nicely, I doubt the sixers would be interested with Saric coming over.

That's probably true, but it still doesn't prove that Okafor is the only problem with the team. Philadelphia is a team that is built to function around an athletic five like Noel, not a true low post player like Okafor. He doesn't have the right personnel around him to truly flourish and help the team win.
I remember when Shaq and Kobe were together, one year, Shaq was hurt in training camp and missed the first 15 or so games of the regular season. The team went 5-10 or something like that with Kobe being the featured star. I don't think analytics were kept for those games, but you can probably assume Kobe's ratings sucked. But that doesn't mean Kobe is not a good option as the featured guy. The team was built around Shaq, where all the big men outside of Shaq were shooters or blue collar guys and nobody could go down the post to get a bucket to take pressure off of Kobe. Statistics can be misleading from time to time.

Phi supposedly has top 5 rated D with Noel at C amd no ok4, they are bottom 3 with ok4/noel and dead last with only ok4 at some point during this season. Justify that
