SEeing KCP,Mook,SJ, Harris all switch on picks and the potential we have defensively moving forward started a party in my pants.
I noticed that too. And that was one thing I really have been wanting. We needed to really improve the pnr defense, but also our pnr offense.
If Reggie is getting trapped or they're blitzing the pnr, he needs to do a better job of stringing that big man out further and being able to make that pocket pass to Dre rolling down the middle. Kinda like how T Mac used to get Greg Monroe wide open dunks and layups literally several times in a row down court. It's not always about throwing a lob.
1.) one thing is that as soon as RJ gets past his defender he sucks at keeping them behind him. Normally the big man will stop RJ's motion towards the basket and the guard gets back in front of RJ. This is a product of
1.) RJ giving up position to easily and being indecisive. RJ probably should throw the ball at the rim 2-3 times more a game when a big man comes for the double and let Dre feast on the put back. Teams do this to us almost every game.
2.) Dre's lack of awareness on the pnr. PnR offense is all about timing and players recognizing the passing lanes and getting into a position for a pass. Dre seems to be always trailing the play and that allows the big man to double RJ hard into a errant pass. IF Dre presents himself as a threat for either the pass or lob earlier, now the big man simply can't double w/o consequences.
3.) Our wings and guards fail to present themselves. RJ got trapped several times towards the half court line and all our players stood in one spot and was screaming for the ball. They have to help RJ out , move and find the passing lanes. As soon as any player successfully passes out of a double , there should be somebody wide open.
I think that's on RJ to create that passing lane with how he comes off the screen. Somehow TMac used to string that big man away from the hoop as far as possible. He would allow himself to get doubled but never was in any real danger of being trapped. He created a wide open paint for the big man to stroll down uncontested. Reggie needs to force the double.

I thought LeBron played like he laid a 'money line' bet on the Pistons.

its because of TMacs ability to score in the mid range. Bigs just need to keep the guard indecisive until his man can get back in front, if RJ can consistently hit that mid range step back, Bigs will have to respect it causing them to move further from the hoop as well as forward motion towards RJ in which he can drive past the big.
I also noticably with Harris on the floor, we have a ton of more space. Teams don't sag off him as much as illy or tolliver

That was 75% Cav's highlights.
