New rookies for next season

Post#1 » by Patrick1978 » Wed Feb 24, 2016 2:22 pm

Buna ziua din romania

The nba draft is in 4 months so i would want to know which players you would like for the magic .
I think we should go for a center or a pf.
My big favorite is jakob poeltl but he is out of reach for us.
So i watch a lot of college Basketball and one of these three would be great :
Diamond Stone,brice johnson, ivan rabb
as i said this is my opinion

O zi buna
la revedere
Magic din romania

Ma numesc petre, sunt de la constanta

I think we should trade our draft pick. Skiles won't play him anyway.

I do think there is a decent chance we trade the pick this year but that all depends on what is available on the trade market. However, we are going to be in a really good position for the draft. We will have a pick in the 6-10 range (pre-lotto), which means an early 2nd round pick as well, plus we also have the better of Chicago/Portland's 2nd round picks. The fact that we are going to have two fairly high 2nd rounders makes me think that we will trade the 1st rounder even more. There aren't many minutes to go around for incoming young players. We already have young talent at every position that we need to give minutes to. Also, it is guaranteed money...it seems like we are trying to gain as much cap flexibility as possible. I think the first gets moved and we hang on to the two 2nd rounders.

^this tbh, no point in bringing in another rookie to be ignored/marginalized

But assuming we keep it, I'm with you on Poeltl if he's available. Would be a fantastic backup to Vuc. I like Brice Johnson as well but he would be redundant next to Gordon.

Unless its Simmons. We really don't need anymore players that need development. If the goal is to indeed get better quickly then we need to include draft picks in any trade scenarios that make the team better.

but if we do keep our pick, Rabb interests me a little assuming he falls to us at around 13. if not I like Brice Johnson there. Seems like a guy that can contribute immediately.

Nothing really interesting other than the top 4, except that there's a dude named Diamond Stone... Sounds like a stripper name.

Oh please, no rookies! All the youngsters on this board will be howling about Mario and Aaron keeping the the rookie(s) from getting minutes.

That's true actually. Shiny new rookies take presidence over winning and since Realgmers know more than nba coaches and GM's /Greenfont

Likely shopping pick + young players at chance to snag superstar before FA starts. Butler? Cousins? Get one of them and it's easier to attract another star, possibly 2 in July.

Seriously doubt we use our #1 pick this year.

What motivation would Chicago have to ditch Butler? It's pretty clear that the Bulls are his team, not Rose's, going forward.

Cousins is probably more doable, but not for a low-lottery pick unless we plan on offering Gordon and Mario as well.

Not really... We've given some guys opportunities to prove that they worth high usage. They've failed, we're not in the playoff picture, so it's time to move on to the others.

If AG and Mario did the same in 2 years, it would only be fair to look down the bench and start giving others the opportunity.

You have to be more understanding of the scary situation these guys are in. I mean, can you imagine the level of pain and suffering that comes with being a 19-20 year old millionaire playing meaningful (yet limited) minutes of a game you love... It's a sad life Orlando has doomed Mario to.

Beat me to it. We will most likely have a lottery pick. I say look to make trades for player(s) that will give this team and immediate impact and help us for next years playoff spot. There are going to be alot of veterans available for trade this summer. Some guys that I like are

- Corey Brewer
- Langston Galloway(even though we have a million pg already)
- Iggy (I can dream)
- CJ Miles
- Courtney "Baby come back" Lee
- Evan Turner
- Will Barton

Not saying all are worth a 1st round but targeting them in a trade could prove beneficial to the team.

maybe a rift between star and management could be a reason to ship him out. Also used his name due to the rumor from a few weeks ago.

I can see it now. The Magic get a pick anywhere from 6-10 and trade it, then the team they trade it to takes a player who turns out to be a future MVP. Some of you would sh*t bricks for life.

That's fair, I just never personally put a whole lot of stock into that rumor. Seemed rather ridiculous.

Trade the pick or draft a diamond
The future is bright 8-) Payton said. ``I just want to keep getting better and maybe one day I can be the all-time all assists leader for the Magic.’’

Yes we are in the playoff picture and they are getting opportunities.

This team doesn't need more youth, but it needs more upside. Hennigan should draft whoever's BPA with our lottery pick and decide who to trade later. I'd hate to trade a lottery pick for a veteran who will be washed up by the time our young guys are in their prime.

Also, if you think we can use a lottery pick to trade for a star who isn't in a contract year and hasn't already told his team he's leaving, you haven't been paying attention to how trades work in the NBA.

Trade the pick. If for some reason it isn't traded, I like Ivan Rabb, Diamond Stone and Brice Johnson in the 11-15 range.
