28-29, where do we finish?

Post#1 » by SamFlow » Wed Feb 24, 2016 8:32 am

At the beginning of the season, I predicted the Pistons would make the playoffs
for sure and end up with 48 wins (+/- 4 or 5 depending on injuries and so on).

With 57 games played out of 82 available games with 25 games left, I can't see 20-5
happening over the rest of the season. (I had thought 42 was a minimum.)
.....

With the trade and the mounting injuries, it's not looking great.

Where do you all see the season ending?

Playoffs?

This is an interesting site. I think it projects our final record based on our power ranking and our schedule. It calculates 41.3 wins and a 48.7% chance of making the playoffs.

I was super confident going into the season because real coaching, and genuine stability for the season.

Now with the trade and injuries I'm not so sure. Not making the playoffs again doesn't really bother me anymore because our starting 5 is utterly brilliant and Stan has the money to make the bench outstanding but I digress.

I stated in the other thread that because of Stanley's injury and our now war zone bench it would forcefully facilitate the starting group coming together and blazing thru this in a badass fashion.

I'm sticking to that and remaining bullish. I said really early that the Pistons were going to make a big run right around now and I am standing firm. Big win streak coming up.

45 win total.

Wouldnt have to face Raps till East finals in that scenario.

I'm still sticking to 44 wins we're going to have to pick it up

Drummond is going to have to start playing with a sense of Urgency. Morris is going to have to pick up his game as well. They both been slacking off.

If Drummond stays focus and gives a full effort we make the playoffs, If not then we have no chance.

Ya let's be honest. It's all dependent on Drummond. He seems not in the greatest shape Though

Unlike previous years where we were "fighting" for lottery position, this year we will be fighting for a playoff spot, probably down to the last week. I really want us to get in, even if it is for #8, and I think we can do that.

I like this! Let's keep tabs on your prediction as we go. This might be good enough for 6th seed which would be amazing!

As long as we're throwing out predictions, I'm gonna say 43-39 (15-10 in our remaining games). Our nine game home stand for the entire second half of March, where the only, "Oh crap, we're heavy underdogs tonight!" game is OKC, is gonna be massive for us; there are a lot of very winnable games in there, and we could move way up in the standings if we take most of the coin flip games, too (twice against ATL, DAL, CHA).

Is 43-39 enough to make the playoffs in the East? Last year, that's a lay down yes; this year, only time will tell. But it would still be an eleven game improvement over last year, which is huge and can't be diminished whether we make the post season or not.

This is realistic. I don't know if it's enough for the Playoffs but it most likely is. Keep in mind the last game is a wash for Cleveland. Lebron, Kyrie and Love are probably not going to play. There's a lot of games that could go either way but my prediction is the same as the beginning of the season 40-45 wins. I'm going to predict 43 at the 8th seed. We'll either be 8th or 9th. Get ready for tons more complaints. We have a great shot even with the injuries. Let's make it happen
