Anyone else notice that elf doesn't fight through screens? He's way too casual getting around them.

Did you watch the game? We suck dude. The Sixers were scoring on us like there is no tomorrow. Playing Fournier and Oladipo more than 40 mins each every game is going to cost us sooner or later. I do hate Skiles but I mostly hate him because of his awful coaching.

Apparently there is a very, very fine line between not playing the youth enough, and playing it too much. I guess that number is somewhere between 36:05 and 37:01 per game. Anything else indicates that, as usual, Skiles sucks (regardless of game outcome or winning 4 of our last 6) and should be fired immediately, to be replaced with <insert name of unrealistic, unavailable coach here> as soon as possible, regardless of cost.

Just foe list the trolls. It's not even worth it.

When will people realize that the realgm magic forum has the best, hall of fame worthy, coaches in the world. If coaches like Skiles checked in with this forum for strategy and playing time, they would be an 82 win team. Lets just ignore the fact that we have gone from -5.7 to -1.1 in point differential, with one of the youngest teams in the league. Ahead of teams like the Rockets and Bucks. This team sucks!

His defensive effort/abilities in general have been concerning as of late. It's not just being weak fighting through screens, it's an inability to get in front of opponents, an inability to keep them in front of him rather than letting them fly by, and a general lack of defensive awareness. He just lacks focus on that end of the court, which is a shame because he's running the offense quite well and doing everything right at that end.

Hopefully, Skiles was resting Jennings for Golden State.

Agreed. Jennings has the type of competitive attitude where he'll want to go right at Curry.

AG on Green is going to be really important match up for us. I feel like he's the engine that keeps that team running and I hope AG can be really aggressive in both sides.

Don't be surprised if Mario doesn't get huge minutes again. He's not ready for the Warriors.

Curry goes off on everyone but with the way Payton is playing defense im pretty sure he'll have a career game.

Well, if the Magic can shut down 2 out of the 3 (Green/Klay/Curry), then they have a shot of knocking them off. Dipo would also have to shut down Klay or someone stop Curry from taking high % 3's. The games GS lost were ones where Curry shot horribly bad.

This team is just ridiculous. They seem impossible to beat because of all those offensive weapons. Chef Curry cooks every night and there is just no stopping. Hard to stop a guy that can pull up from halfcourt. We have been giving PG big nights for a while now. Would not be surprised if Curry drops close to 50 on us. Elf has his biggest challenge yet.....I can already imagine the bs calls.

As if their offensive wasnt flawless enough, they are one of the top or the top defensive team in the NBA. Im just hoping we give them a run for their $ and not play a low effort game with no competition.

Just checked BBRef, and last night was the first time in more than 4 years that we've gone over 40 free throw attempts in a game. In fact, since Dwight left we've only gone over 30FTA in a non-overtime game 13 times before yesterday. We need our guys to stay aggressive like that.

Yeah, God forbid a young player work his ass off to earn his way into the rotation. Much better to demand a move elsewhere.

Hahah that would be a bad move on MARIOs part . Ask f or a trade after his rookie season because could not get minutes over players who are better than him at his position ? I think he should and probably will get more minutes but to think that he is being disrespected by Skiles is laughable .

Refs were keeping it tight last night. We may not see a game like that for awhile. It felt like every quarter was 45 minutes long.

CJ last game took minutes at Pg from Payton and Brandon Jennings not hezonja . I think he should get a few more minutes to give rest to dipo and Fournier but it's not like Skiles personally hates Mario which is my point .

His 9 points from the FT line has pretty much been the difference between a W and a L.

And Vic was 9-9 that helped too. Most games no one gets to the line or very little.

Players who can't handle coaching and demand minutes without earning them are usually on a fast track to the D-League or Euro-Ball being those types of players are not good enough for the NBA.

Are you seriously blind? Against the Sixers and the Pacers we played with 2 point guards on the floor at the same time for a few minutes. Those were Mario's minutes because he can play 2 and 3 so there are 96 minutes to be divided between him,Dipo and Fournier.

Let me put it this way so you can understand:
against the Pacers: Oladipo: 41:18 Fournier: 34:11 Mario 8:48 even though he should have played 20:31 looking at their minutes
against the Sixers: Oladipo: 40:42 Fournier: 42:43 Mario: 10:53 - 2/2 from the field for 5 points.

I don't have any problem understanding , maybe he could of have a few more minutes but your overreacting , in the big scheme of things the minutes Mario is getting or not getting in his rookie season is not going to have an effect on his overall career. You just have a bias towards Mario which is understandable because he is fun to watch but to act like I'm
Blindly making my statements or I don't understand is false , you are the one who are making these statements emotionally not logically . Just relax we have a bright future and Mario is going to be great . Skiles isn't the best coach but he is far from the worst . We have been playing well lately even with the limited minutes that Mario is getting . So just let it go Mario will get his chance to shine
