Brewers at Cubs - 6/29/07

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Jun 28, 2007 12:02 am

Yost originally had Bush/Gallardo/Sheets going but since Bush pitched 2 innings on Wednesday and an off day Thursday he will likely go with Gallardo/Sheets/Vargas on their regular days rest.

Both teams are hot. This should be a great game/series.

Bring it on :)
This will be the loudest Wrigley has been since 2003 I think.
I will be there on Sunday.
Should be an amazing series.
Finally a meaning series between the Cubs and Brewers and potential rivalry brewing.

This series really only matters a great deal if one team sweeps. One game either way isn't going to be a huge difference. However if the Brewers take a 10.5 game lead in the division they'll be tough to catch if the Cubs sweep and get to within 4.5 games then we have ourselves a division race.

Ben Sheets needs to pitch like he has its that simple. What does he have 12 quality starts in a row now?

This is a big series with both teams rolling right now. Momentum can be swung into either team's direction. If the Cubs sweep, it becomes a rather large problem for the Brewers. If the Brewers sweep, then the division gap becomes close to astronomical.

Should be a fun, exciting series.

I'm looking for the Crew to take 2-3. That'll be sufficient for me.

oh gosh. i got to go to my cousins wedding on friday and i won't be able to watch the game. but i will have to find a way to know whats going on before/during/and after the wedding. and its also a pretty good rivalry for me, because 1/2 of my family are cubs fans and the other 1/2 brewers fans. i am a brewers fan therefore i hope we get a sweep over the cubs.

may the team with the better record win.

I can't wait to watch Gallardo pitch again. I love pitchers with pinpoint fastball location and a great breaking ball. :guitar:

I like the pitching matchups for the Brewers except for the Vargas and Marquis one.

Agreed. So does Bush going to the bullpen yesterday indicate that Gallardo is going to keep a starting spot.

Nope, Bush is starting Sunday. Yost said Gallardo's last start is Friday. He'll be in the pen at least until the break.

Would be a fun fact but you joined 6/21/07 and they lost 6/24/07 to the royals.

So not that fun of a fact. but hey 5-1 aint bad at all
