probably won't be fired either
you don't give a GM the ability to trade a pick like that if you're even 50/50 on keeping him

Trust me, this data and writing is hard work and will take a few days, but assign modules to guys on here to do and bring back the data and google doc chart links and talk about it before going live. You can roadmap one hell of a website that Bill Simmons will talk about with House on his podcast. That's one angle I took with SOB. Make that "story" so damn airtight that a guy like Simmons had to conclude, yeah, this is right and needs to be discussed in NBA media circles.
Sort of off topic, but Joe House is a dope, and while it's nice he's a regular DC guy on one of the most downloaded podcasts, I don't think he's the smart vocal influential figure-head to start a revolution. Immediately after acquiring Morris he went to twitter supporting the trade with a 5 tweet series of
"Just need to get the #7 seed"
"He'll play hard for a team trying to make the playoffs"
"protected 1st rounder is very worth the risk. morris' value definitely equivalent to slots 11-20 in 1st round"
"bullets don't have what I would call a *great* track-record with 1st rounds picks..."
All of that is loser talk and I'm sure it made EG and Turd grin from ear to ear because they've now convinced the most public fan to buy completely in to the mediocrity they're selling.

God, I hope you are wrong about this.
If the Wizards miss the playoffs while simultaneously squandering their #10-13 pick, I just don't see how any sane owner could keep the GM. Particularly when his contract has just expired (along with Wittman's).
If there was EVER a time to fire a GM, it would be this summer. Seriously. What could EG possibly do to get himself fired?

That is the problem. Ted's ego renders him incapable of using basic common sense.

Dark Faze is probably right unfortunately. Would you let your soon to be fired GM trade away your next GM's pick? Of course not.

Ted has been in "I'll show the doubters that if we wait long enough, I'll be proven right" mode, but I think this will finally be the straw that break's the stubborn owner's back.

Discuss Ernie Grunfeld's GM skills here (Part 2)
The thing is, after all of his years with the Wizards, Ted doesn't appear to know or understand much about basketball if you've read his blog or listened to him being interviewed, he is almost like those posters here who kind of go-along wishfully with whatever EG does. Ted is going to hold EG's hand like a little boy as EG looks to rebuild again this summer, EG stays.

Friggin Wizards are raising my ticket prices again. 6% increase for a team that's at least 20% worse, with a terrible future. They really have no shame. I'd gladly pay 10% more if they got rid of Ernie. I'm embarrassed to pay so much for this awful team.

PIGS!!! They don't frigging care. The 6% increase when applied to the number of Sold Out *star-based* games neutralizes any decrease in revenue due to poorly attended games. Ernie keeps the wheel of mediocrity moving and Ted is fine with that.

Actually... hmmm. If enough people agreed they'd pay an extra 10% for their tickets if Ernie were fired, that might suffice to get it done!
We need to start a movement:
"10% more if you show Ernie the door!"

Don't make deals with the devil. He'll hire Billy King or Elgin Baylor, and it'll cost 20% next time.

The record of the team should have no impact on ticket prices. You are paying for the experience, not the wins and losses. Why should your ticket price decrease? You are paying to see quality basketball from a team of professional NBA players led by an All Star (John Wall). Verizon Center is a top quality venue inclusive of gourmet food options, amenities, club lounges and suites. Teams like the Lakers and Knicks, ticket prices remain at a premium regardless of the teams record and Staples Center and Madison Square Garden regularly sell out. So again, why should your ticket price decrease?
