Quarterman?? Ugh. I cringe watching him play when I'm watching LSU trying to scout Simmons.

Would be cool to see a Smart-Turner-Johnson-Crowder-? lineup. Just switch every p&r. All can get the rebound & break themselves.

Our current JJ would fit nicely in there as the 5 for switching. Pretty solid shooting lineup too, esp. frontcourt.

O woe is us. No Joe Johnson. So, have folks already given up on RJ Hunter?

I haven't given up, but when you are a 3pt specialist shooting 23% from 3, you need to remove yourself from any practices with Evan Turner and play in the d-league for a year or 2. NBA eats it's young.

Still nothing from Danny. Nearly all teams in the East have been active but us:

Pistons: signed Justin Harper to 10-day deal; attempted to trade for Montiejunas; added Tobias Harris
Bucks: added Steve Novak
Knicks: signed Jimmer Fredette to 10-day
Bulls: added Justin Holiday
Hawks: added Kirk Hinrich
Cavs: added Channing Frye
Magic: added Ilyasova and Jennings
Hornets: added Courtney Lee
Wizards: added Markieff Morris; added JJ Hickson

im ticked DA couldn't improve the team at the deadline....but the majority of the moves you just listed aren't exactly impact players.

No, but if they upgraded at certain positions or bench spots, it improved their teams, even if just slightly.

True, but what difference is JJ going to make, really? Does he propel them to a championship? to the EC finals? Would you expect the Celtics to sign him long term or is he just a 30 game rental?

Balance that against the experience that might benefit RJ Hunter (and potentially enhance his trade value) if he were given the minutes that JJ would otherwise get.

According to Mannix, Melo has no interest in playing here right now. I couldn't imagine he would have been traded at the deadline because his trade kicker begins in the upcoming season.

Agree that it would make more sense to give the minutes to one of our young guys, which is why I don't like the Reggie Evans idea, but I must admit to a soft spot for Joe Johnson. Still bummed that the Celtics traded him halfway through his very promising rookie season when they could have traded the useless Kedrick Brown instead. It would be kind of nice to have him with us through the playoff run. Not sure how much of a difference maker he'd be, but it doesn't look like Brad is going to give the minutes to RJ or Young in any case.

Despite widespread rumors, Ainge wasn’t willing to confirm that the team was close to a deal for Philadelphia 76ers star Jahlil Okafor.

“I’m not saying anything,” said Ainge. “I’m done speculating. In reality, we were close to many deals.”

He said that the team held back now with the expectation of a busy offseason.

“I think there’s gonna be a lot of action in the offseason, and we’re hopeful that we can be a part of that,” said Ainge. “We’re trying to make good deals, not just deals. We’re not just trying to give up all of our assets. We’re trying to find the right fit for our team to make our team better for a sustained period.”

I thought this was very interesting:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/14847858/houston-rockets-ceo-tad-brown-denies-james-harden-trade-request-demand-kevin-mchale-firing
Houston did make an effort to trade Howard, with the goal of getting a first-round pick for him. When deals failed to achieve this, Morey was able to move Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton to the Detroit Pistons for a first-round pick. Motiejunas failed his physical, and the trade was later rescinded.

Wow. Does this mean Danny only offered 2nd round picks? Lol at Morey not getting anything for a guy who's sure to leave at the end of the season.

That Melo picture...2 things:
1) whoever did that is terrible at Photos hop
2) him wearing 15 is blasphemous. He couldn't carry Tommy's jock.

Two things, both assuming that's true:

1. Boston isn't far from NYC if you have unlimited money to ease your travels.

2. He perhaps could talk her into a few years in LA, should that arise as an issue.

The reason that's potentially relevant to us is that due to age, Griffin is worth Melo plus other assets, yet swapping the two might meet Doc's needs. Melo plus Doc's choice of our current bigs plus a little extra in the way of assets could be an interesting return on Griffin. But it's a longshot because other landing places (including the Knicks) might work out similarly well for the teams involved that aren't us.

The right deal is obviously a 3 team trade with the Knicks and LA, the Clippers will move Blake, they would need a win-now piece that fits their spread offense, that guy is Carmelo who will only wave his no-trade clause for 2-3 cities, including LA, the Knicks own their own 2017 pick and could take a step back for one year and reload, they'd likely ask for Smart and whomever you draft with the Nets pick, which likely would be a 4-5th selection, probably you'd have to toss a filler, Amir Johnson, and maybe another youngster, like James Young.

That's a price for sure you'd be willing to pay for Blake, since the trade would be done when the cap is already at 92 or 95m$ you could also absorbe Robin Lopez, who the Knicks might want to trade and fits nicely along Blake, with his passing and defense.

I could see the Clippers taking on Calderon/O'Quinn as well, they would be over the cap anyway and they need rotation players, they could send Jamal (cancer who plays no D and just chucks), who is in a non-guaranteed deal to NY, for cap purposes.

Something like this,

to Boston, Blake Griffin, Robin Lopez.
to LA, Carmelo Anthony, José Calderon, Kyle O'Quinn.
to NY, Amir Johnson, Jamal Crawford, Marcus Smart, James Young, Nets 2016 selection.

Would be a really fair deal that make sense for all teams, maybe the Clippers would ask for a 2nd rounder or something from Boston, but you do it anyway in that case, or the rights of somebody you draft this year with the bunch of 2nds you have.

Thomas-Bradley-Crowder-Griffin-Lopez, plus the ability of keeping your bench plays and adding others, and getting Jerebko/Turner in for smallball units with Griffin at C is a tremendous foundation.
Especially since you still would have cap flexibility, some nice young prospects and a ton of picks to keep building the team or adding another future stud, possibly Gordon Hayward down the road?

Thomas-Bradley-Hayward-Crowder-Griffin would be bananas.

Well, she was born and raised in Brooklyn, although she went to HS in Atlanta. As for the travel issue, if you fly commercial its 45 minutes but it's at least an hour at either end to get to and from the airport. If you fly a private charter you can land at Hanscom or Norwood but at the NYC end you still have to deal with LaGuardia or drive up to the Westchester County Airport. So i t's a 3+ hour trip if you fly, drive or take the train.
