Shows that the conference is a LeBron high ankle sprain in April away from being completely open.

It seems a little early for this type of move, but I'll be interested to see if they rest anyone when these two teams match up again in a few days.

That crossed my mind, too. Was this strategic? But hey, this puts us only 2 back of 7th (and only 4 back of 4th) so I'll take it!

Yeah. Cleveland played so bad it made me wonder too.

There could also be the issue that Tyronne Lue is just in over his head. Is he really prepared to be a head coach for a team that isn't being player-coached by Lebron?

No Philly game thread so I'll post this here.

Is there any reason why Temple should start over Anderson. Assuming Wittless wants to keep Beal on the bench, AA seems to bring what Temple brings on D plus when he shoots the ball it actually tends to go into the basket.

Thoughts?

To me the real question is, why are the Wizards handicapping themselves against the best unit our opponents are putting out to start the game. Why on earth is Beal not starting?

Here's what Wittman is saying:

“I think about it a lot, but when you’re dealing with a minutes restriction, I don’t want to play or start Brad and then he’s got to sit 10, 11 actual game minutes, which is probably closer to 30, 35 [actual] minutes,” Wittman said. “So I can get him in and out better when the minutes are restricted by bringing him off the bench and keeping the continuity of how he normally plays with his time on the bench and on the floor.”

The reasons:

- Let Anderson play himself into shape; playing heavy minutes could cause him to re-injure his ankle.
- Temple is capable of guarding point guards as well as shooting guards which means that John Wall can conserve more of his energy on the defensive end if the point guard is a tougher matchup
- Anderson has primarily been guarding 3s and been serving in a backup role to Otto Porter. I'm not sure if Anderson has the lateral quickness to keep up with quicker guards like Temple. Plus, I'm not sure if the Wizards really want Temple playing minutes at small forward.

Which makes the Wizards season to date that much more disappointing to me.
