Game 61: Pistons (31-29) @ Spurs (50-9) - 8 PM EST

Post#1 » by whitehops » Tue Mar 1, 2016 3:28 pm

big game for us, not necessarily to win but compete. we had two days off before this game but the spurs had three days off and they are 28-0 at home. this would be the first game in three nights for them so they may rest some players but I wouldn't count on it.

the spurs have the #1 defense in the league by a good margin and the #3 ranked offense.

last game we played them they beat us by 10, morris held kawhi to 7 points on 1-7 shooting but parker and Aldridge killed us in the pick and roll game. containing parker is priority #1 on defense.

Not going to break our season if we lose. But it surely could make our season if we win. Hoping for the latter.

Hey Pop, I think Duncan, Parker and Kawhi all look like they could use a game off. LMA too.

Need to play to win. If we are really a playoff team, we should have a chance to win every time we step onto the floor.

Hope we win, but if we get whupped on let's not degenerate into an "it's the refs fault" paroxysm. I went and read (posted nothing) part of the Rap's GT (114 pgs!?) and it went on and on about the league and its refs conspiracy against them. I used to think we were pretty bad, but are as nothing against them. We're in SA, so expect a few head scratchers.

Nope. Want our guys to learn what it takes to play the best. To me that is more important than making the playoffs. However, even if we lose this game I expect us to make playoffs. And do even better next year!

I think after this game the only hard team we have left is OKC and that's it. The rest of the games are very much winnable and it's all about effort. It really does look like we'll make the Playoffs. Other teams have a tougher schedule and they haven't taken a leap of talent like we did. I don't expect us to win this one. I expect us to grow from it. There's a chance the Spurs have rested for too long and lost some momentum but they're very professional.

This is a game where if we lose we are okay for overachieving last week. I hope Spurs rest some players so we get an easy one but if full health we still have a chance.

Hoping for a repeat of last year when we won in SA. The key to this win is implementing last year's strategy: forming a ****ing wall!

SA is undefeated at home this season. No shame in losing, but if we play like we've been over the last few games, we have a decent shot. SA is pretty much locked at the 2 seed with no chance of moving up or down. That may change their approach tomorrow.

We expect to lose this game, so we really have nothing to lose. I hope our guys compete and make it a tough match up for the Spurs. Other than that, I'm just hoping to see some good basketball.

Quiet now, I'm self funded. Make the NBA great again! We'll be winning, winning, winning til you're sick of winning.

How come they get to be the North? Where I grew up in Michigan is further North than Toronto.

How many of you over reacting fans will be throwing players & coaches under the tank when the Spurs do what they do to everyone else on their HC?

There's been plenty of games this season were we thought we had no chance to win but ended up pulling out the W. With the way we've played the last 4 games, there's a chance to win this game. We just need to be locked in defensively and we have a shot.
