Yes. Name and the local ties helps him. But he is absolutely worth it. Had he gone to a bigger name school, he would've been a first round pick and he would've gotten going faster. Instead he was part of the Kings mess and lost in the shuffle with San Antonio

What are the odds McCallum even comes here though? Or that we have interest? I'd think he'd go to a team where he'll get consistent minutes the ROS to earn his next contract. That's not here. Probably goes to Utah or Brooklyn. Maybe if we cut Dinwiddie and then gave him minutes over Blake, but I can't see Stan doing either. Now in the off-season he'sa guy I'd consider for the back-up pg role here.

If Ray wants to come home (College), then I think he'd at least consider it. But we have no minutes to give to him unless Steve Blake somehow dies and SVG is notorious for playing vets over younger guys.

Utah doesn't really present an opportunity for consistent minutes. They have Mack, Neto, and Burke all playing there right now. Brooklyn definitely has a possible vacancy though. Houston could use one too if/when Lawson gets waived. Those might be the only two situations more enticing than Detroit for his contract-chasing purposes.

I think if we offered McCallum a spot he'd come here quickly. Just not sure if I see SVG throwing another (although probably an upgrade) wrench into our already chaotic bench situation.

Steve Blake is washed up but he's still a composed veteran on the court. Doubt SVG picks a playoff push to take flier on a young PG two teams have given up on.

Today is the deadline for adding players who will be eligible for the playoffs. I think the Pistons might just stick with Harper for the rest of the season though.

I could be wrong, but I believe the player just has to be off another roster by deadline time today. Ie as long as Lawson was bought out by Houston by today he could wait a week and then sign with another team and be playoff eligible.

I agree, I believe this is correct.

I'd be ok cutting Dinwiddie for Ray McCallum. Dinwiddie is hurt right now and he doesnt really provide anything more than Ray does anyway. I think Steve Blake would make a great 3rd string point guard. He's too old to handle backup point on a regular basis imo.

Yep, now that I read the CBA FAQ on it again that is how it works. I like it better that way anyways.

He didn't play for a while when Jennings came back. I think Blake feels pretty good right now. You can see he can tare up the floor if he makes the right plays. Everything opened up for him last game. He was like Steve Nash out there haha

I think Stan likes Blake a lot more than most think he does. I even think Blake comes back next season.

I wouldn't be surprised either but he'd probably be a third string back up like Anthony is. Both can stay on the team if they'd like. I like them. But we'll need a good back up PG and PF and we're good

I agree. Draft the PF/Ce, sign a combo guard with the $12M and then use vet's minimums to bring back Anthony and Blake. I'd say Tolliver as well, but he probably gets more than that elsewhere.
