Happy with that signing. No risk, but possible high reward. Sampson is so energetic off the bench and a pretty good defender. Can't shoot, but he attacks the rim with force. Let's see what he can add to that team in the last months of the season.

I don't know anything about this guy but 95% of his highlight reel is dunks, the rest are layups. He seems athletic and versatile as hell, but can't provide any floor spacing. Sounds kinda like a George Karl type of guy, not sure where he fits in.

Looks like a high flyer fast break guy. Maybe he can be another Will Barton.

Saw him play in real life in Philly, and because I've jokingly loved him for the past year and a half on the Sixers (I Live Near Philly So I Like Philly Too), I'm excited to see this guy on the court. He attacks the rim.... A lot. His shot isn't really there but he's extremely athletic, and a great perimeter defender. Imo, he reminds me of a mixture between Barton and Mudiay but standing at 6'9". He'll be a great spark plug off the bench ehen he actually gets in the game. I'm sure he'll love the nuggets organization too, because in all reality the only people who dislike Denver are the ones that have never played here.

I mean, it's a very low risk signing, and the Nuggets had two roster spots to fill. We're not expecting him to change the franchise. He's an end of the bench guy who maybe has some untapped potential that can be unlocked in a situation that isn't Philly.

The last point mentioned by MHZ is key.

He isn't a Sixer anymore, a tainted franchise. NBA-ready players like Okafor may be able to show what they're capable of, but guys like Sampson? Not really, they need more of a structured and more sorted association. I'd be happy if he can play a similar role as Alonzo Gee did in Denver. High energy guy, defense first minded and a aggressive slasher on offense.

Anybody knows what Tony Wroten is up to these days?

It looks like the 76's screwed up by cutting Sampson to make a trade (that got voided) and thinking they could resign him later. Give TC his due; no risk but a possible reward of a developing NBA player.

Philly purposely constructs their rosters to under achieve because their commited to their tank. Hinkie knows that half the players on his roster should be in the d league but the beauty of playing these guy is that other teams actually convince themselves that some of the guys on the philly roster could have potential if on their team lol. Just when you finally get rid of foye and hickson, You guys sign this dude for 2 years lol.

Second year isn't guaranteed, meaning we basically signed him for the rest of the year.

When a potential nba player arrives for free, sometimes you take a look. Not too hard to understand is it?

His contract is typical for a "look-see," only the remainder of this season is guaranteed. There is so little money on the table that its ridiculous to worry about his contract. Ironically, he just started for the Nuggets against Memphis because of an injury need; so, he has already earned his money.

Did you notice Sampson was the leading scorer for part of the game against Memphis? Yup, he scored the first basket. ;-)

What exactly is your agenda against the Nuggets? Are you really still this butthurt that we picked Mudiay over Stanley Johnson? With the 2nd year being non-guaranteed, this is a pretty pointless thing to be critical of.

As of March 2016, Sampson is starting and seems to be part of the regular rotation. He is a big wing who can actually defend. Hits an occasional shot at the basket, makes some free throws, gets rebounds and just played 23 minutes against the Lakers. Didn't see that coming!
