Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season Thread: Part IV
Morrow, for all his flaws, is an equal defender to Dion. Give Roberson 5 more minutes, slip Morrow in for another 10 of Dion's and some of Singler's, and play Payne at backup PG.
The rotation right now is awful, and Donovan to this point has made mistakes, fixed them, then somehow gone back to making the same ones.

I love how true this is.
Beginning of the season: okay, we'll let Augustin and Dion run the second unit.
End of November: ugh, this isn't working. Maybe I'll extend Durant and have him run the point with the second unit.
End of December: Durant is turning the ball over too much and Augustin is worthless, let's try Cam.
*Things start running fairly smoothly, Cam even cuts into a few of Dion's minutes...until Roberson goes down*
trade deadline: the team is struggling a bit but Dion! We'll let him and Foye run the second unit
Beginning of last week: ugh, this isn't working. Maybe I'll extend Durant and have him run point with the second unit.
Donovan is basically Dory from finding Nemo.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Maybe when Monty and Mo are back they can talk some sense into him...

RK mentioned it on Welcome to Loud City, but he was wondering if the Foye trade was to get a vet when the assistants all went out.

It would make sense but we traded away Augustin who is just as much a veteran and just as capable on the court, plus Novak who has been around and seems like an intelligent guy. Not to mention Nick, who is pretty much a coach most days anyway. I think it was a money saving move by Presti and Donovan is like the NBA2k player that has to try out the guy he just got...

True, and I was hoping they'd get a buyout, but doesn't look like it.

Kevin Martin? Because we need an A-Mo clone to continue playing Foye and Dion over.

Somebody's gotta take the rest of Roberson's minutes. Some people said he left on bad terms but I couldn't remember.

Ty Lawson you guys.
Just kidding.

Randy Foye in his 5 games so far:
5.2 PER, 37.5 TS%, -4.8 BPM.
He clearly needs more minutes. This is a new team.

I'm surprised, it doesn't seem like he has been THAT bad. We'll call this phenomenon the Dion Waiters effect, you grow so used to **** play that it seems normal.

Re: Oklahoma City Thunder Regular Season Thread: Part IV
A win tonight is pretty much a must because there's no way we go into Golden State on the second night of a back-to-back, and our third road game in four nights, and beat the Warriors tomorrow night.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

I think they both have big games, but Adams has the bigger game. He does a great job of defending DeAndre Jordan and that's crucial to our team's success on the defensive end.

That trade was Dion insurance in the playoffs but more importantly it was to save $10 mil. and open up a roster spot.
By the way guys, what do you think of signing Kevin Martin back? Lawson (too much of a distraction?)?

Lawson fell off a cliff, and K Mart is just Morrow again. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried, gotta find a reason to bench any good wings for worse ones.

I think it would be a great move if we signed Lawson. Sure, he's not playing well because he's having to adjust his entire life. Ever tried quitting alcohol cold turkey? How about cigarettes cold turkey? It's a massive lifestyle adjustment and it affects your mental sharpness but it comes back. It would be a great test for our organization to see if we can help Lawson make a comeback.

Why are they testing the organization? Put it this way, the Knicks are starting Jose Calderon and won't sign him. The last thing they need is a distraction considering at this point I'm not totally sure Donovan has the whole locker room in control the way it is.

Sure, we could hold AA meetings while we're at it. You've lost it.
