How as Russell vs Mudiay? Looking at the boxscore looks like Mudiay outplayed him.

Mudiay definitely had a good game....I don't know if either one of them outplayed the other but they both had decent games. Clarkson went out, Kobe didn't play after the first, and Lou was out, so Russell was basically the focus of the offense entirely in the second half, and he definitely looked a little off facing doubles and getting trapped. Don't get me wrong, Lou, Clarkson, and Kobe are a big reason Russell has been in a less that ideal situation this season, but all three of them being out and Russell basically becoming the only perimeter thread is also something he isn't ready for. I liked what I saw from Mudiay though. I think he still has a lot of potential, despite his hype dying down due to his terrible numbers.

Russell Post Allstar break, starting 6/7 games :

20/4.7/3
on 52/54/69 (needs to work on his FT shooting)

Obviously he is really hot from three, and that percentage is heavily affected his fg% considering he takes a lot of them, but still, a pretty impressive stretch, considering he has really picked it up in the past 4. His numbers will come down to earth, but his overall avgs for post all-star break should be ROY worthy (not that he will even be considered over KAT, and rightfully so)

These rookies are so good, the NBA needed this explosion of potential after the past few potato drafts.

Just to gloat about Towns, I have never seen a bigman his age so polished at basketball (albeit, Shaq could have come out of high-school and dominated, haha). I might get some mockery for this, but Towns could potentially become some fusion of Dirk and Tim Duncan, with a sprinkle of KG's dirty tricks (screen setting). He is just so unbelievably good at basketball.

Averages of 19.3/11.8 on 56-114 (49.1%) shooting over last 7 games, and people are asking the beat reporters on Twitter if Karl-Anthony Towns has hit a rookie wall.

Watching the game I thought it was pretty close to the point wouldn't say one outplayed the other. Specially considering we were already down Lou Will and after the 1st Q Kobe, so when Clarkson went down in the 3rd Qtr Russell had no1 to take the offensive pressure off or playmake to...I mean our closing unit shouldnt include Huertas and our 2nd round rookie.

Having said that, glad you guys won

He has man. You guys should send him to the D League. Or better yet trade him to a dumb team like the Knicks. I'm sure they'd take on his horrible contract.

Agreed. I thought it was a pretty even matchup. Coming off Russell's big game, Mudiay looked motivated and as aggressive as he's been all year. Loved it. When he's struggled, he's been passive, afraid to make mistakes (TOs, missed shots). I'd rather he makes the right play, even if the shot isn't falling. That is going to come, but I want to see the instincts and assertiveness be there.

Russell definitely had some challenges. He's not used to being the guy the defense keys on, to your point. He'll work through that. He'll have some clunkers, and have games where he tears it up. Part of the learning process.

Hopefully we see these two go at it for years to come.

He's the youngest player in the league who was made the team's #1 option on offense -and thus the number 1 focus of opposing team's defenses. It's only natural he would hit the rookie wall at one point. Rookie shooting guards tend to be inconsistent to begin with - at his age and (lack of) experience flashes are more important than consistency.

I've said for a long time that I don't believe Booker will be a superstar in the league, but I think he'll be a great 2nd option.

You seem to have some unhealthy obsession with the Suns though. This was not your first post bashing the Suns and/or it's players.

What? So we can only praise players and teams here? Hell.. my OP was even just posting his stats for his game without any comments or criticisms.
