Fournier.....Resign or let him walk away

Buna dimineata din romania

I don t know what henny plans with fournier. Will he resign him or let him walk away?
My opinion is to let him go especially if henny plans to go after guys like harrison barnes,
chandler parsons, nicolas batum or courtney lee.
Also with the draft henny could target guys like denzel valentine, buddy hield,
timothe luwawu,furkan korkmaz.
Fournier is really good offensively but way to inconsistent and for me he don t like
to pass the ball to the other players .He just passes to his dude vucevic.

This depends entirely on the cost of bringing him back. I think there is little chance of him agreeing to an extension that would be cost-effective, so I would let him test the market. If he gets an offer sheet anywhere north of 12M per, I don't even consider matching it. Given his situation and the impending cap increase, I suspect he won't be on our roster next year.

I keep hearing that Skiles loves him, and I know I have previously read that Hennigan wanted to keep him, but what else would he say? I see a methodical (ball-stopping) wing with below average athleticism and a good set shot. He can get to the basket and it seems like good things happen when the Magic give him a screen and curl him to the basket, but he takes too long to decide to do anything when he gets the ball anywhere else.

I'd love to see him re-sign and be the 6th man off the bench. Give him solid minutes as the first guy off the bench.

Payton
Oladipo
Hezonja
Gordon
Vucevic

Then you have a nice bench of Fournier, Ilyasova, Jennings, Smith, Nicholson, Dedmon, Napier, Watson, Marble.

Easily resign.

Henny has proven that he simply will not let an asset walk for nothing regardless of the players role on this team, resign now and worry about it later.

Perfect 6th man off the bench and could be a key trade asset down the road.

I feel like if he does resign, it would be a front loaded contract since the Magic have significant cap room, I imagine Henny looking out for him his first year and the rest of the years will be manageable.

Henny will resign Fournier if he strikes out in the Free Agency market. Or, use him in a sign n trade deal.

Ilyasova has a team option.

I would imagine he would be resigned to a contract similar to that of what Tobias received last year.

I'd be disappointed if we let him walk away for nothing, especially if we don't land anyone this year. He is proving to be a vital part of them team's core. A great 6th man to begin with.

I think when you consider EP/OLA/Mario/AG/Vuc and Fournier coming off the bench, you have a good team coming along especially after learning from the experiences this year.

Fournier is only 23. He could be our Ginobili.

Being an european player, I don't think he would have problems about being a 6th player. They are used to play less minutes in Europe and have more than 5 "starters". If he gets PT and money, he will be fine.

I also have a feeling that foreign players are more loyal to their teams than americans, e.g. Dirk, Manu, Parker, Varejão... even Vucevic.

Because he's more ready to contribute than Mario right now.

We can't just let him walk away. I believe that we will resign him like we did Tobias and if I greet builds up, then trade him. This also depends on who we target this offseason and if we get him.

I would be more concerned with locking up Dipo then Evan.

Walk away!!! I dont see what anyone sees in him. Pet hate he drives the lane with 4 defenders there ready to block his shot instead of maybe looking for a pass out he tries to lay it up while dipo or rio are sitting out on the 3 point line for an easy 3. He is super selfish and takes some pretty terrible shots. He is not the player we want. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The problem is that the Magic have almost no leverage to work a SnT.
