Anyone else think Simmons is high bust potential? He seems really raw. I do think Ingram can be a star. Just my opinion :D

Skal is owning Simmons,he's really showing out in a big way. I'd trade up from our Wiz pick to nab him if necessary

Yeah most overrated one and doner in recent memory IMO, not in the same league as KD/AD/KAT let alone the best prospect since Bron

Murray is soooo good. Kentucky opening up a can.

Overrated by the media, yes... High bust potential, no.

Yeah I think Simmons has a higher floor than Ingram but a lower ceiling, worst case scenario he turns into a more cerebral, bigger and quicker version of Evan Turner who can still average close to a triple double but I don't see franchise player. Also LSU has almost no shot at March Madness, they will have to win out in the SEC tourney to get in with the loss to UK. Very underwhelming today, razzle dazzled with some flashy behind the back passes and showboated hanging on the rim after a dunk down by 18. He has 25 assists to 29 turnovers the last five games, his playmaking is an intriguing skillet but I don't see him being better than actual NBA PGs running a halfcourt offense

Simmons won't bust, but his most likely projection imo is a really exciting Lamar Odom-type player (with worse defense and a worse jumper). Notice how the majority of his highlight plays are in transition. He doesn't have the instincts to do much in the half court, his advantages are due to his size/strength advantage on NCAA players (which won't be the case in the NBA).

I'm also in the group that prefers Ingram's NBA prospects. He isn't blowing the college scene away statistically, but keep in mind that he's only 18yo - a full year younger than Simmons. There are high school seniors right now older than him. When you see the things he's able to do at such a young age, it's easy to project future stardom for him as he develops physically.

I think Simmons would be a unique, exciting player and a great fit on PHX, but Ingram is more likely to become that elite volume scorer in the half court who can carry an offense. It's harder to find guys like that.

Lol Kentucky fans were chanting GPA when Simmons was at the line and he didn't get it. "scholar-athlete" was always a sham moniker anyways, he's kind of the anti-Brandon Knight BBIQ apparently doesn't translate to the class room where he is flunking. If you can't pull a 2.0 with grade inflation you're either dumb as bricks or lazy af

He essentially has 1 more month of school.... before he skips over 4-5 tax brackets... what would your priorities be, besides doing the bare minimum in class ? Awesome chant though

Simmons
--------
Ingram (falling quickly, lucky it's a shallow draft)
--------
Hield, Murray

Not fussed about anyone else for a top pick.

I still like high ceiling potentials like Zhou Qi and maybe Labissiere for our middling pick.

Perfectly said. I cant see Simmons busting like an Anthony Bennett but I think he has a questionable ceiling. I think he is shooting jumpers with the wrong hand and hes really bad on D. Im sticking with what I said before the season started, his ceiling is prime Lamar Odom and his floor is a rich man version of Josh McRoberts. Ingram I think has star potential but he is so far away from it. I can easily see him being the next Wesley Johnson type player. If a team takes him #1 its a team that is willing to take a gamble.

Overall this draft is really really weak. There is no guaranteed star like an Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant type prospect. Honestly I dont think either guy would go top 3 in last years draft or in the 17 draft. As a Duke fan I think Justise Winslow was the much better prospect coming out of Duke compared to Ingram. The 17 draft is the draft that is going to unload a bunch of stars into the league just like this past draft

If Suns miss out on top 2... And with Len's recent play.... Pick 3 and Len for Cousins.

You need a top player to build around.

Gotta go BPA with a top pick. Brown's potential is impressive. Great body, super athlete and attacks the rim well. He does look like a Justice, except better athlete and more potential on offence.

If we take Brown, can we have TJ or him as a smallball 4? TJ would destroy opposing 4's with his faceup game.

What makes you think Brown has more offensive potential than Justice?

Well hes better at creating his own shot. Not great, but better. Has the sort of game that involved relentless attacks to the basket, and finishes strong. Will be able to draw fouls at a high rate in the NBA.

Brown needs to fix his jumper though, like Justice. I like the fact Justice is a lefty though, thats in his favour.

I think this draft will be similar to 2011. Lot of busts on the top but many steals later.

Perceived weak drafts tend to follow the same pattern 2000, 2002, 2004, 2011 with a standout no.1, but a lot of top 10 nobodies.

We might actually work out every player who declares for this draft from 1 to 80.
