Should we expect to see more of Dedmon the remainder of the season?

Post#1 » by ORL_on_FIRE » Sun Mar 6, 2016 6:04 pm

I seen yesterday they sent him to play one game in the d league so he could get more playing time and then he would be back in San Fran with us tomorrow.

Does this mean they are trying to warm him up to getting more minutes for us?

He scored 17 pts and grabbed 22 rebounds with 4 blocks yesterday.

Tbh I really thought skiles would use him more this season, I really thought he was his kind of player.

Considering how some people think the panacea to all that ails us is a shot blocker, it was interesting DD ended up with the worst +/- (-15) in the Phx game in only 9 minutes. That's pretty impressive. That's over 1.5 points of deficit for every minute in the game.

Dude. You've solved it. We don't need a shot blocker! Because of Dedmon's 9 minutes of playing time he got in a blowout we now know that no shot blocker could ever play well here because an undrafted guy we signed actually didn't impact the team positively in his entire 9 minute stretch.

Sorry Gobert. Sorry Whiteside. Sorry Ibaka, we won't be needing your services!

Yay sarcasm from the Vuc hater! Love it. If we could get Gobert, Whiteside or Ibaka... or Towns or AD, then sure let's have that discussion. But that's not the narrative here, the narrative is just trade him for a guy who blocks shots, ignoring that most of those guys are untouchable. Maybe you can get a Hibbert or Biyambo. Maybe. But those guys aren't good enough to turn this team into a contender. So... what then?

Jason Smith is a shot blocker, and our team's best defense on Len was when Smith was on him. Otherwise, Len was almost automatic against Vuc.

Dedmon just isn't the best candidate to challenge Vuc, because he doesn't have very good bballIQ.

Do people actually think we don't need help in the paint on defense? AG can only do so much, and Vuc only shows up on defense 1 in every 3 games, if that.

No I get the need and it would have helped had AG stayed in the game. But early Len was just hitting long 2s, which really isn't anything about paint defense. Len actually had a pretty bad shooting night (10 of 22), but that's because he was taking long twos all night. The bigger issue was fouling and putting him on the line.

Jason Smith fouled 5 times in 12 minutes... good lord. DD fouled 3 in 9.

stop using facts, you are messing up the narrative with truth and reality

Smith didn't really do a good job on Len either... got pushed around quite a bit by him actually. Len was playing really determined against all our bigs. Probably has something to do with getting jerked in and out of the starting lineup along with his minutes. He looked like a player who does not want to go back to the bench again. Seems like a player on the rise who is ready to breakout as a legit starter... 15/12 per36 minutes... and his averages when playing big minutes the past two seasons seem to back that up.

Amazing how I can almost word-for-word answer this from my text from the Jenning's thread:

Orlando needs a massive upgrade within the PF rotation and we get a thread about the Magic's second deepest spot. Hmm.

(only one word added).
