Re: PG: Overachievers
Didn't shut down Harden or limit his passing options. 3-point defence was awful, although Brewer had an uncharacteristically good night from distance. Rockets went small w/ Ariza or Brewer at the 4 - thought we'd be better served to handle that and counter w/ Ross instead of Patterson. Oh well. All hail JVG:

What happened to Scola in the second half? He totally disappeared.

Re: PG: Overachievers
People trying to blame Demar and Lowry for this need to get a grip. Who did they expect them to pass to? Biyombo in the post? Cojo isoloation against Beverly?
This loss was on Casey for not going with the same group that got them the lead in the first place.

This game has finally exposed our bad defense to people that were turning the other way because of lowry/derozans offense winning us games

Re: PG: Overachievers
Harden completely destroyed the Raptors PNR defense this game with his passing. When the Rockets went small with Brewer at the 4 it made no sense why the Raptors kept on hedging leaving Brewer wide open every time on the pop especially with the way he was shooting the ball. Patterson was late hedging leaving space for Harden to split the screen and the reason why Dwight got all those lobs because JV had to step up to stop penetration and there was no rotation behind to drop down and put a body on Dwight.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Looks like towards the end the Rockets would just collapse into the paint on defense knowing that Demar was just going to hold on to the ball.

Even i'm bent with this loss so i'll let the haters have this one, This one was on Demar and our transition defense. Casey ofcourse as well. And haters is a good term because I actually chilled in the GT this game and I have never seen some posters or others who only show up in Ls. But whatever, i'm bent too, so flame away.

He's used that lineup all year - typically to close 1st and 3rd quarters.

Re: PG: Overachievers
Our defense has been really concerning of late in terms of effort.
Losing I don't really care about, because losses happen in a year, but the guard penetration and closeouts on the screens on our guards for the long ball has been horrible. Demar and Ross of late have been guilty of this a lot.
Offensive execution was fine for the most part, the issue was they couldn't defend, especially in the second half.
The last 20 games has been concerning, and there has been a big lack of effort of late. We have gotten comfortable as it has been winning games due to our talent overcoming the opposition, but the little details on defense, especially the abuse of our guards has been a problem.

Exactly. This is my fear, his attempts might not translate too well to the postseason.
But overall, the decision making a the end of this game was bad. And I look to the coach a little on that.
We saw so many open threes past up to see a rushed decision at the end of the shot clock, we saw lots of Demar with total chuck freedom, and not a of fluidity.
The crunch time lineup. I actually missed the first half, wasn't Scola feeling it? Did he get injured I something?

It all just looks so familiar / cruising towards the playoffs where other teams will just have to outhustle them to win / they will get pushed and have no push back / they will panic and try to hero it up and fail.
