Re: 2016 Draft and College ball
Skal starting to pick it up... wonder how high he can rise by draft night? Higher than 12? Who takes that gamble?
I currently have both Luwawu and Korkmaz gone by 12. I see us being very amenable to trading that pick. I've come around on Zubic - if he can be stashed, he could be a candidate at that spot.

I know my opinion will be taken with a grain of salt on RGM, as it should (Frank Kaminsky), but I really like the skills, play, and athleticism of Kris Dunn. His game is perfect for the NBA. So for me, as long as we end up with Simmons, Ingram, Bender, or Dunn.....this would have been a totally successful season, no matter who we get with the 12/13 pick and the upside of Bogdan.

Re: 2016 Draft and College ball
First post here after lurking for some time..
Wouldn't it be great to draft both Simmons(or Ingram) and Labissiere - the two ranked 1st and 2nd on draft boards before the college season started ? By the highlights I have watched I think Labissiere is the better prospect than Rabb for example. I'm not impressed by Rabb's stats nor highlights, looks more like Portis than Bosh from the comparisons I have seen. Also Labissiere is not the first big man that underachieves in college. Andre Drummond and Myles Turner were also ranked higher before the college season, and drafted later, but are now considered steals. Personally I would package both later picks with the Washington one to move higher if needed and draft Labissiere.
Since I have watched some games of Bogdanovic I will give my 2 cents here. He really looks like Booker-lite to me. Not the same level shooting wise, but still good and mainly good IQ and team player. I think his much better understanding of the game will make him the preferred 6th man before Goodwin. He will not be a star in this league, but should do just fine as a reserve also ocasionally playing alongside Booker as sometimes he plays the point for FB.

I also think Dunn can end up as good pro, although there is few red flags in his game and his game did not matured with his age but he is as good as any guard you can draft.Skilled, long, athletic, with jumper in progress.Reminds me on Marcus Smart before draft, probably worse defender but i think its good comparison.
Bender kinda makes sense for Suns, other teams already have already addressed their PF position or they are positioned better for Simmons/Ingram than Phoenix baring Suns stay on 3rd position for lottery.I think situation about him will be much clearer as time passes, i think he will participate on draft combine so NBA GMs can have better input in his skilset and measurements.Thing is, its still unsure whether he will stay abroad or come right over.I,myself, think regardless who end up with him, it would be better that he comes right over, i cant see his role will change in Maccabi next season, i can write details but it will take too much time, if somebody is more interested in whole situation i can explain via PM.Thing is, if he decides to stay a year more overseas, i can see Boston taking him and stashing him for that one year while remaining competitive, plus its possible for him to drop based on some March Madness hype from some players currently behind him.
I also like that DX projects Ivica Zubac as late 1st for Suns.Could be nice draft and stash prospect, could come right over though but would create logjam at C.He is basically croatian Alex Len.

Have to disagree about Bender participating in the combine. He's gonna do what's best for him, not what's best for the GMs. One of the main reasons he's projected to go so high is nobody has really seen enough of him to pick him apart. He's already a projected top 5 pick, his stock can't really go anywhere but down. If his agent has any say..he will not participate in anything but the measurements & such at the combine.

Re: 2016 Draft and College ball
Jaylen Brown screams Shabazz Muhammed to me. His low steal rate is really, really bad (steal rate correlates highly with IQ awareness) and I know how this board would hate more dumb players on this team.
I think the top4 of this draft is good (simmons/ingram/dragan/dunn).. would be nice to get a top2 pick but I can live with Dragan or Dunn - they're good.
After this guys I'd trust McD to do the best move possible (probably move up/trade this picks for future ones/stash more european guys)... I'm really struggling to even put some guys on tiers right now. Yikes

Watch his two vids here for some Dunn hype. Drafting dunn kinda guarantees we need to move bledsoe or knight. I am not opposed to that.

I'd be fine with Dunn too. He's got the highest floor of the draft imo. I just would prefer that if we take him, we trade one of the PGs for whatever the best deal is and use something to ensure we still get a PF we want (whether Skal, Rabb, whoever who would fall around the Wash pick).

Re: 2016 Draft and College ball
Dunn is quicker/shiftier and a better lead floor at PG than Smart, his assit % was at 47 a couple weeks ago before he laid a few eggs in the last games, rumored to have been sick or hurt again, which is absolutely insane, they are similar shooters, and Smart is more versatile defensively due to his strength.
I'd compare Dunn to a bigger Lowry, current Kyle, I think he is going to be fine shooting wise, he needs to work on it, but he can hit them.

It wouldn't suprise me at all if the player drafted with Was pick will be better than the one drafted with Suns own pick. Why Suns always choose wrong year to suck?

Thats what i thought in the first place, guess i was wrong. His stock may go down even if he only does measurements, based on some other prospects performance in March.

Suns nearly have four first round picks this year. Their second round pick (#33 overall) is as a good as a late first rounder.

Because we don't choose to suck, it just happens.

It might be better, because there isn't a guanteed contract.

The last two picks should be draft and stash players, no way we have 5 rookies next year.

How is that even a remotely close comp? Muhammad basically played off the ball and scored out off screens and corner 3s, plus offensive rebounding and griding in the paint, Brown is a much better athlete that can play over the hoop, something Bazz didnt really show.
He is bigger and much more athletic than Bazz and not even close as a shooter as of now.
