Defense was bad yes. I still refuse to believe that were heading down towards a meltdown like last season. Lillard and Haden lit us up......it happens.
Get back in the win column on tuesday vs the nets.

Derozan doesn't play very well against defenders who touch him and rough him. Beverly, Butler,Porter absolutely shut him down. Leonard would too. He needs to learn to play smart through contact. He does it against all the weak defenders. I still don't understand why Lowry didn't get some touches at end of game?

This is not really true:
Washington - 26.5, 5, 3.5, 0.54 TS (4 games)
SA - 28, 6, 4, 0.756 TS (1 game)
Houston - 19, 7, 6, TS 0.588 (1 game)
Chicago - 21.7, 5, 4.7, TS 0.512 (3 games)
Look, players have bad endings to games in an 82 game season. Demar has had plenty of great finishes, and last night was a bad one, but to make these grandiose statements, without any factual backing is weak.

Raps put me to sleep last night. We could all see that comeback coming too.
This team is too predictable on offence. We need more easy buckets.

I don't get Casey man. They had Harden guard Patteron all of the 4th quarter. You know damn well he doesn't like to post up or take advantage of his height. Put JJ in and let him abuse him in the post. Casey got outcoached yet again but an interim coach .
Or how about we hack a player for once in our lives ? They were hitting 3's in transition on every play, so why not hack a howard or hackapella ? Why didn't we go this to slow down Detroit the other day as well ?

Washington's Wittman was also considered a sub-par coach, yet he thoroughly outcoached Casey in the playoffs last season. This is classic Casey... go in with Plan A and if it's not working, try it again and if it's still not working, try it again and again.
So, if we're to get past 1st round, we need Casey's Plan A to work. That is, we need Lowry in peak all-star form, we need DeRozan to be on a hot shooting streak, and nobody gets hot against us, etc. The playoffs are where 2 teams play many games in a row in a short time so when the other coach figures you out, you have to adjust your strategy on the fly to keep one step ahead - like in a chess match. With Casey, if the opposing coach figures him out, he's done - Casey is finished, because he can't/won't adjust.

On a serious note ... i know the team is doing well, but I hope Casey is not the only best coach we can have. cuz with a good coach, this team can do much better... so many screw ups ...
best thing about casey, he does get our team to play hard, but we need a smarter head in that head coach position.

I like Casey, but you would think he would learn something in his 5th ( ? ) season. I appreciate the fact that we got 2 all stars under his tenure and back to back ( embarrassing) playoffs... Ok , the BKN gets a pass because they were hot in the second half of the season.
He is a stubborn man and this will kill us yet again in the playoffs. JJ was doing a good job on Harden ( Made him work for almost everything ) and is the only one who involves JV with nifty passing. He was knocking his 3's yesterday too and breaking down the D. What more do you want from this guy ? You take him out and we get abused by Brewer and Harden. I just don't understand how PP doesn't want to back down in the post against the smaller Harden. I remember the Dallas game where he wouldn't eveb post up JJ Barea... He plays good physical D like a true PF but is useless as a stretch 4 if he won't use his size when he has a mismatch, because they will have guys half his size guarding him...

OH and ... I honestly believe, we are good enough to pass the first round with the team as it is.
And dont see anyone beating GSW/SAS in the finals.

That's why he will never bring this team deep into the playoffs.
Playoff basketball is about adjustments. Each game is a different story. I just think Casey doesn't have it in him to outsmart other coaches. He has done it on rare occasions throughout his tenure here.
His timeout management is awful too. Everyone and their grandmother knew the Rockets were tying that game up last night being down 18. Call a time out, stop the bleeding early not when they are only down by 5.
This guy gets me so nervous sometimes. There is zero excuses for that loss last night. He for once should have said post game "I take full responsibility" instead of saying we are a young team bla bla bla

For a guy who has coached 7+ years in the NBA, Casey also gets zero respect from the Refs. The upcoming playoffs will determine if we should be searching for a new coach.

Unfortunately, Casey's job only depends on our first round results. If we get past first, Coach Casey for life!!

There was no panac from their end. They knew the Raps crumbled under the length and perimeter pressure. Boggerstaff had Harden guarding our 4, and Ariza guard Klo in the 4th and were leaving JJ open most of the night. Those are adjustments on the fly by a terrible " coach ".
Remember in last year's playoffs, where Steve Kerr's team was down 2 - 1 against the Grizz and ended up having Bogut cover Tony Allen ? They won the series in 6 games.
I'd love the day Casey makes logicial or smart in game decisions , let alone in the playoffs.

1.22PPP on 37.1% Frequency...
EDIT: **** me and he's allowing opponents a +4.9 shooting % overall, +9% from 3!!!
It's been talked about recently on the forums but this is still trending downwards. Wow.
Those are bad numbers. How our other starters look in that regard?
Lowry: -.4% (-3.8% from 3, .93PPP on Spot-Ups with 31.6% Freq)
JV: -.3% (+.9% from 3, .87PPP on Spot-Ups with 12.9% Freq)
JJ: -3.6% (+5.6% from 3, 1.01PPP on Spot-Ups with 23.8% Freq)
Scola: +2.1% (+5.8% from 3, .98PPP on Spot-Ups with 31.3% Freq)
JV's weakness in the PnR is giving up 1.12PPP on 9.6% Freq, Scola is giving up 1.22PPP in the PnR on 9.3% Freq for a bit of reference.
Lateral Quicks wrote:Gradually JV's minutes will approach zero at the same time his points and rebounds approach infinity - a statistical singularity, if you will. Shrewd move from Nurse.

It works well with Lowry cause of his ability to stretch the floor and move the ball quickly. You plug Derozan in that line up instead, you get less spacing, more dribbling; and less ball movement.
