He said a deal could be finalized following a busy couple of weeks with the SEC women’s basketball tournament last week in Jacksonville and the SEC men’s basketball tournament this week in Nashville.
Even with the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium opening in Atlanta in 2017 that will be the home of the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons and SEC championship game, staying put at the home of the neutral site game since 1933 (except for 1994-95 when the stadium underwent renovations) makes sense financially to Georgia.
