PF in our range (Ford mock)

11. Orlando Magic

Marquese Chriss Washington Freshman Forward

Chriss is a pretty big gamble this high in the draft, but his combination of size, athletic ability, versatility, jump shooting and shot-blocking skills make him a unique prospect.

He could be an excellent fit next to Nikola Vucevic in the paint. He won't be ready right away, but I think he could be a potent addition to the Magic if they can be patient and continue to develop him. He has as much upside as anyone left on the board.

Odds of winning lottery, projected record: 0.8 percent, 36-46

12. Phoenix Suns*

Deyonta Davis Michigan State Freshman Forward

Davis is another raw prospect. However, his athleticism and shot-blocking skills are coveted by scouts, and he has shown semblances of a solid midrange game this year.

This is an upside pick all the way for the Suns, but they shouldn't be afraid to roll the dice.

Odds of winning lottery, projected record: 0.7 percent, 39-43

13. Houston Rockets*

Diamond Stone Maryland Freshman Center

Houston is fighting Utah for that last spot in the Western Conference playoffs. The only upside for the Rockets falling short of the postseason is that they would avoid sending this pick to Denver.

With Dwight Howard's future very much up in the air, Stone would be a nice get for the Rockets. He might be the most offensively polished center in the draft.

Odds of winning lottery, projected record: 0.6 percent, 40-42

14. Detroit Pistons

Ivan Rabb Cal Freshman Forward/center

The Pistons are also caught in a very tight race for the Eastern Conference playoffs. If they fall short, they can add another young big with significant upside.

Rabb has proved to be an effective rebounder and has added a nice midrange jumper to his game. He needs to get stronger, but I could see him as an Ed Davis-type player in the pros.

Odds of winning lottery, projected record: 0.5 percent, 42-40

Call me crazy, but I'm still a fan of Skal Labissiere. He'll be a project, but I'd invest the time into a big with some semblance of a jumpshot and shot-blocking. Plus, I'm just not that in love with the more than 9-10 prospects anyway.

Yes labissiere has real potential.I am surprised that he struggles in college.
Other bigs that I like for the magic marques chriss, ivan rabb, damian jones and thomas bryant.
Sadly henry ellenson is out of range for us

Maybe Henry Ellenson is out of range. There are still enough games to lose where we could get up there and get close as there isn't much that seperates us from the 6th spot. But I am not a fan of Ellenson at the moment as he isn't that great of defender. If we get a better defensive center like Whiteside in free agency then I would love Ellenson but unless that happens no thanks as I would rather have Rabb or Deyontya Davis or even Chriss.

yeah he had a good game recently so maybe if he can show something in the tournament(though if he shows too much he could move back out of our range) I would definitely consider him. There is the potential there to be exactly what we need. Deyonta Davis is another one of those under-rated slash potential guys. He needs more playing time and if he were to go back to school there is talk he could be a high lottery pick next year.

In terms of fit and being there around our draft range, Chriss, Skal, and Deyonta Davis seem like the best fits. (assuming Rabb is gone)

The more I see & hear about Chriss, the more I like him. Anyone else have any thoughts on him?

Still pretty high on Murray he is a superb shooter, he could be like Beal, but his stock his skyrocketing right now

Edit: just saw DE has rabb going a lot later than I thought

I like Chriss as well from what little Ive seen of him on youtube. I like his athleticism, mobility, shot blocking, and competitive drive.
The future is bright 8-) Payton said. ``I just want to keep getting better and maybe one day I can be the all-time all assists leader for the Magic.’’

I think thomas bryant and brice johnson are als worth to be considered.
Yes murray would be very nice but i think he goes to high for us.
If henny goes for a sg scorer buddy hield, denzel valentine, furkan korkmaz, timothe luwawu, isaiah coordinier are very good Options.
hield with his shooting and scoring would be a huge addition for our offense.
Valentine with his allaround game also.he can do everything on the court.
And the two french guys luwawu and coordinier are intriguing players.
It will be intersting until draft day. Though decision for henny

You're not crazy at all. Andre Drummond was a prized high school recruit who failed to live up to it in college. Teams read too much into that and he fell from a pre-season #2 mock spot to an actual #9 pick (behind even MKG, Dion Waiters and Thomas Robinson).

I don't think Skal is on Drummond's level of being worth a look at #2 overall but we won't have the #2 overall pick. Will I call you crazy for saying we should look hard at him with a #8-12 pick? 100%, absolutely not.

Brice Johnson is more of a second round to undrafted guy and that is coming from a North Carolina fan. I am not considering him where we are at in the first. Though with our two second rounders he may be an option but I wouldn't expect much from him.

I wouldn't say monster season but he is having a very good year. But he is a senior and hasn't quite lived up to expectations till later on. A lot of his play is simply do to him being a senior playing against freshmen and sophomores. You never know as he was a somehwat high valued prospect and may just be a late bloomer but still he just isn't thought of as a first rounder and only time will tell what kind of a player he will be much less if he will even stick on an NBA roster.
