Denzel Valentine, A.J. Hammons, Ethan Happ Headline Big Ten Awards

Denzel Valentine has been named Big Ten Player of the Year.

Joining Valentine on the All-Big Ten First Team (Media) are Yogi Ferrell, A.J. Hammons, Nigel Hayes and Jarrod Uthoff.

On the All-Big Ten Second Team are Matt Costello, Bryn Forbes, Malcolm Hill, Peter Jok and Melo Trimble.

Hammons was also named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, while Ethan Happ won Freshman of the Year honors.

Valentine is Mich St classic, like Magic, Dray Green, an unlikely guy who can go triple double. He gets dissed a tad as not real long or fast but...SKILLS do matter. Sometimes the key thing is what's between your ears. There's fails who had wingspan ,hops.. just were below average players. There's HOF guys who many said were not ATHLETIC enough.
