I don't feel bad. He signed up for it knowing that the Nets wouldn't be a good team.

We only shot 9 FTs the entire game, and they were all Brook's FTs. Zero FTAs by the rest of our team tonight

In comparison, Raptors shot 25 FTs.

Yeah, that's obvious but I'm speaking from an organizational standpoint.

Brook has been on some bad teams but he still had a Devin Harris or Deron Williams as a running mate. His biggest need was always a competent Forward. I've never seen him alongside a bunch of bums like Sloan and Larkin before.

I don't think he expected us to be this bad though, even I personally didn't. I thought we would struggle to make the playoffs, maybe sneak in as the 8th seed if Joe had a relatively great season (as NetsDaily kept promoting). But the Eastern conference got better, and we got much worse.

I missed this one. Any reason why Ellington played more minutes than Brown/Kilpatrick?

Development. Gotta love it.

This is why having a coach on the same page as the GM is imperative. Ellington is not going to be here next season. There's no reason for him to play.

Eh...I still don't feel bad. Melo is going through the exact same thing except he's older and it's happening for the 2nd year in a row. The first year Phil projected playoffs and they ended up having the 2nd(?) worst record in the league. This year they brought in players who should've been able to push them into a battle for a low seed, yet it looks like they're definitely not going to make it.

I don't feel bad for him or Lopez. They both could've left and joined better teams within the last two seasons but they wanted to remain with their respective clubs no matter what. They're both getting paid $20mil annually. I can't really too sorry for either one.

I missed this game but based on the highlights, this could've been Lopez best overall game as a pro.

He's got no other solid option to go to and still tearing it up, he's calling out players and telling them where to go on offense so he doesn't get trapped too easily, he commanded the ball, and had very good & timely blocks.

Loos like he had an excellent game. It's a shame they couldn't pull out the W.

Raps are a lot better than us at flopping. That 3rd quarter awfulness is down to the play of our guards though. Despite Brook being in unstoppable form, our awful team couldn't find a way to build on that.

Lowry is possibly one of the biggest floppers next to Chris Paul.

yeah that 20/8/2 is pretty nice. too bad its a wasted year but he should easily be able to produce at this level for the next 3 years.

His assertive play and the added responsibility has unlocked the Lopez that we've all wanted to see.

This is why there should have been zero aversion to the Johnson buy out. We should have done it sooner.

Eh...that's kinda revisionist history. Did anyone really know that Lopez would so this after JJ was bought out?

What many of us had been saying is that Brook shouldn't need for things to go south in order for him to show aggression. He should be this way all of the time.

It's great to see him play this way but at the same time there's still the thought of what happens if/when we add talent back to the roster. Does Lopez go back to taking it easy because he doesn't feel as much individual pressure to make the team succeed? We won't know until it happens.

His increased play has less to do with needing things to go south. He came into this season knowing he was the face of the franchise. He was always expected to be second to Deron Williams and more importantly, he came into the summer and training camp healthy. He hasn't done that since 2012? When he was an All-Star.

He was unstoppable on the offensive end, and dominant on the defensive end too, he played a very complete game. He completely owned Jonas Valanciunas. So much so that Casey had to play Biyombo most of the second half against Brook. And while Biyombo fared better than Valanciunas against Brook, he still couldn't do much to stop Brook.
