Upgrade? I guess? It's hilarious to see Grunfeld get backed into a corner here.

So they replace a sub standard shot jacking human waste land with another sub standard shot jacking human waste land... If this isn't an exercise in futility, I don't know what is.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--marcus-thornton-agrees-to-deal-with-wizards-173139116.html

A 6-foot-4 sharpshooter out of LSU, Thornton has played for New Orleans, Sacramento, Brooklyn, Boston, Phoenix and Houston in seven NBA seasons. He has averaged 12.4 points and has shot 35.9 percent from 3-point range in his career.

33.8% from 3PT. :-? But he did shoot 41.9% during his stint in Boston last year.

Yup. It seems like he's desperate to make the playoffs.

Actually, I do like this move. Thornton's a good solid backup 2, imo.

Brilliant move. I see a Wizards victory, a couple of Thornton 3s, and another round of Millie.

Gary Neal at least had a TS% of 56%. His defense wasn't great but at times he was better than Garrett Temple.

Raptors fan here, Marcus Thornton is a dangerous shooter especially in the playoffs.

He is a huge reason we lost to Brooklyn in game 7 (2 years ago.)

Ok, but what was the point of signing Jarell Eddie for the remainder of the year?

Not a bad move at all. Thornton is a decent player. Career PPA (100 = average; higher = better): 96. Compare with Beal at 91 so far this season. Peak PPA (2011-12): 130; compare with Porter at 127 this season. This year in Houston, Thornton posted a 77; compare with Temple's 56.

Yes, Grunfeld has constructed a roster so expertly that a street free agent now on his seventh team would likely be an upgrade to Washington's starting lineup.

Apparently he was going to the Heat, but they could not sign him because Beno had not cleared waivers. The Cavs were interested, but they instead signed Jordan McCrea to a multi-year deal.

Seriously, WTF? Dude hits a handful of threes one game, then disappeared and all of a sudden he's untouchable.

Wow Shamwow is critical to the team's culture. Those towels don't wave themselves.
