Looking at schedules and recent performances we might catch Minny. I just can't believe how can they be this bad with such players - youth I know, but still...

As for our other pick: Washington just lost an OT game in Portland, as their first game of a crucial 5 game strech. Beal did not travel with them to this game. Did not find any good updates on his injury. They'll play Utah on friday and Denver on Saturday, then return home for games against the Bulls and Pistons. Here is hoping that they at least split those, maybe go 1-3 with losses against the eastern teams (and a good chance that they'll lose the b2b in Denver, especially if they are still without Beal).

Their biggest problem is they have zero outside shooting. I think they are last in the league from 3, so they simply can't keep up with teams that can hit them.

If you can't hit 3s, you better be elite defensively, but even then your ceiling probably isn't extremely high.

It's only a matter of time before we pass Brooklyn so I'm more interested in scoreboard watching the Wiz. I don't think there's any way they drop past Orlando.

I'm pretty much under the assumption we will end up in the 5th worst spot and likely drop to 6th in the lottery but will hope we get lucky.

It would obviously be nice to see Len and Booker continue to have huge games in losing efforts though to remain 3rd worst.

If Minny axes Smitchell, replaces Bricky Rubio with a PG who can nail the open jumper or gets a floor spacing Stretch 4 they will be a 5th seed by next season. KAT is just that good, the rest of the team is holding him back

I dont think we'll catch both Brooklyn and Minny. Brooklyn yes, Minny not likely.
Unless Knight comes back and tears it up, which I hope won't be the case.

If the Suns didn't win the last two, they would only be one game out of 2nd worst with two to play against LA. Good thing they won those important games.

Minny is WAAAAAYYYY far off than you think. Repacing Rubio might net them a few more wins but that is about it.

I think if Wiggins can just develop range and become nice from 3 they should be ok. LaVine can already hit it and they often play Dieng and Towns together and Towns CAN hit the 3.

But a backcourt of Rubio and Wiggins when neither can shoot well makes it tough.

We still play Minny twice. Depends on what happens there, but we match up well with them and do well against teams with good bigs that can't shoot particularly well. If we beat them twice, that won't be good.

I don't think anyone here (except for maybe a couple of people) WANTS us to win, but it's not like it's anything we, as fans, can control. So that's why many don't do much bitching about it either.

Didnt realize we play them twice. Crap. It would really suck to pick 6th in this draft.

Henry Ellenson would be a nice consolation prize for enduring this abomination of a sason

Didn't we lose to Minny by like 30 pts a few weeks ago? We are still the same team....

I think it's the fact that when we play well and tease for the playoffs we lose just enough to usually barely miss and end up with no playoffs and one of the worst lottery picks.

Then, when we have to endure an awful losing season, and have a very good chance at getting a top 3 pick, we start winning just enough to give us a worse chance at a high pick.

I think people are happy that Booker and Len are showing some nice things though.

There is plenty of excitement in game threads when we are playing well too.

It's tough we can't exactly tell our players to stop trying. I'm also in the camp that believes we will end up with at best, the no. 5 pick.

As fans we have to realize as well that we can't have it both ways. When Booker goes for 30+ points, and Len had a big double/double, a byproduct will be the occasional win from time to time.

Either we accept that our young guys putting up dominant comes with the occasional win, or we have to start rooting against them playing well - this whole "I hope Booker and Len dominate, and that we also go 0-20 to close the season" attitude doesn't compute.

You tank so that you can draft young guys that can put up multiple 30+ point games at age 19, and big man prospects turn into double-double machines - we should be happy when our young guys are putting up big games, and are battling hard to win, even if it results in the occasional victory.

I wonder what happens if we draft Ben Simmons this year, he puts together a ROY type season, and Simmons, Booker, Warren, and Len lead us to the 6th worst record in the league next year. Are people going to start complaining that we're ruining our 2017 tank?

Nope, becouse that core will (should) have the potential to compete for a championship in 3-6 years.

As for our wins against the tanking - this NY game was pretty much what most fans "want" from our team untill the end of the season. Lots of playing time, touches, shots for Book and Len, and an L. If a couple Ws do happen I m happy for it as long as we don't catch brooklyn and minny. We should stay at #4 or #3 after this **** of a season in this draft.

If we get another guy who is like Booker (potential wise, I don't care which position, and who it is... it can be Bender, Dunn, Brown, heck, even Hield, or another steal with the washington pick), then I'd be absolutely happy with the 6th-12th pick next year.

One last team to watch / root for: Utah. Hope they make a playoff push, and get ahead of Washington in the standings, I think they have a chance.

Not "bitching." People here were saying how happy they were with wins earlier in the week.
