How many great tacticians are there really in the Bundesliga anyway. You have Guardiola, Tuchel, Schmidt, Nagelsmann. Apart from those it's mainly these "Herz und Leidenschaft"-managers.

I think he'll do fine. It's almost impossible to manage the Croatia NT. Their best players dont give a sh*t, which is the reason why he made those quotes.

Which Schmidt do you mean? Certainly not Roger Schmidt right? What he is doing is not tactics it's planned suicide. Look at his records at Salzburg or Leverkusen. He always failed in important matches whether Bundesliga, CL or EL. No wonder since he doesn't even have the quality of players available that would be required for the style he wants to play at to be successful.

He would need a Barca or Bayern roster to be successful with his suicidal high pressing approach.

Roger Schmidt. He is good, man. See how he always outcoaches Guardiola when they meet. Leverkusen dominated Barca in both game this season as well. They are still in the EL and if they beat Villarreal they could go all the way.

So after three games in the Bundesliga(which of them being an a$$ whopping at Stuttgart) Nagelsmann's already a "great tactician"?

I know it might sound crazy but if you look at Schubert and the way we're switching systems currently, he might also be "great tactician" if those silly mistakes would be cut down...

Guardiola is the most overrated coach in the world.

I don't think No_20 knows what tactics are, or what "out-coaching" means.

That said Nagelsmann's legit, there's a reason that there's so many of us who been hyping him as the next big thing in german coaching. And though he's going to need to learn to bring more balance/cover to his midfield; the combinations TSG have started putting together since he took over have been beautiful. He, like Schubert, is an excellent tactician.

Sure half the managers in the league are not great tacticians, but a mediocre tactician is still a huge step up from someone who straight up says that he doesn't think tactics matter. Motivating the troops is important; but motivating the troops by telling them that as long as they really try, they'll succeed without a plan, is just stupid.

Meh. Tactics are very overrated. I think good XI selection, let players play at their best position and motivation are the most important three things when it comes to coaching.

Nagelsmann might be a great prospect at the coaching level but he still has to prove it for at least a season or so.
And he shouldn't be run over by Stuttgart and Kramny.

Schubert actually can set up a defense but he's got to deal with loads of injuries, young players and always changing formations because of that, while trying to be the active team.
Still, he needs to keep working on things to get better but like Nagelsmann he was touted highly and he was the best of his class.

It's not even a monthly salary for him. Probably not even half a monthly salary after taxes.
