Clippers Draw A Mercy

Post#61 » by Wammy Giveaway » Thu Mar 10, 2016 5:01 am

(A Mercy is when the losing team finally scores 100 points to avoid their loss being labelled as a Fatality.)

Once again, the Clippers allow their opposing team to achieve a career high category. Russell Westbrook ties for most triple doubles this season with Draymond Green - with a 20-20 game in points and assists. Yes, 20 assists is now his career high.

Clippers have a lot to learn about preventing and negating career highs. Elite teams should always strive to draw career worsts. Clippers don't do that, especially against scrubs.

Trust us. We know. Problem is that Doc doesn't, which explains why we have not traded him during his time with the team.

I feel like you guys are just a player away from being totally dominant. Of course minus crawford. Just my two cents.

Thanks. We've been "a player away" for quite some time now. Nobody does less with more than Doc Rivers. I mean he was already handed Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, and Eric Bledsoe when he arrived, but despite trading draft picks and using them, he could not put together a complete team. To his credit, Doc did a wonderful job in getting Jordan to nearly realizing his full potential and brought J.J. Redick aboard.

However, he squandered Bledsoe as a trade asset since Redick was an UFA who could have been included in a deal with the Magic who was in hot pursuit of Bledsoe at the time. Not to mention the subsequent waste of draft picks that subsequently followed.

Aside from a few apologists on this board, most of us recognize the harm Doc Rivers is doing to the organization as President of Basketball Operations along with his cronies in the front office. His coaching hasn't exactly been mitigating his detrimental effect on the personnel evaluation and transaction side of things either.

Can't blame this game on him. There were too many defensive lapses for everybody and poor rebounding. Also, they missed key shots in the 3rd quarter.

Wasn't that impressed with Russ's triple double tonight.

Didn't think it moved the needle that much for them.
They bullied us and that was the story IMO…not his stat collecting.

Chris Paul's punch to Durant in the sunshine was so quick, the refs clearly missed it. This act could have been ejection worthy. Due to his history of pulling such punches, the league may consider looking into this.

While they're at it, they should also look into the two crotch-shots that Ibaka gave Griffin in the postseason in consecutive years.

Won't happen. The Thunder are pretty much "protected" by the league.

If Chris Paul ends up getting suspended for the punch, it will prove that the Clippers are no longer being protected. It would be open season by that point. Guilty until proven innocent.

I wound up falling asleep towards the end of the 3rd quarter. The last thing I remembered when I was awake was that we were down 10. I was hoping we could pull off another win but I guess not. I'm hoping we can still get the 3rd seed somehow.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Nut punch doesnt look like he was clearly trying to hit him there IMO.
Neither did the Kaman one.

Seems like he's just a scrappy player who is always trying to push off to get an edge.

He's only on the hook for the Hodge joint in college as far as I'm concerned.
