40th anniversary book about the show, thats awesome. The fact that the recording for this show is in the Library of Congress is proof if its magnitude. I had never heard about the snow before, that just makes the story so much cooler.
Ask any Dead Head who knows their stuff to list the top 3 shows by the Dead, and unless they are just trying to be a unique hipster, they will almost always list these 3 shows (in some order):
