Holly is going to get a line of wrestlers, you watch.

I actually had the exact same thought, but who though? Sara McMann isn't good.

I know, there really isn't that many options. I think Nunes will get Holly or maybe even her shot at Tate if they decided the wait until fall for Rousey was too long.

Cyborg is saying she is going to make the cut and wants Eye. Believe it when I see it.

This is kind of what I was talking about with Zingano. It seems like she should be right in the middle of all of this (vs Holm?), but I haven't heard her name mentioned since that embarrassing loss. It's like she got armbarred right off the face of the earth.

I see now that she's been begging for the Tate fight, but that's very wishful thinking.

Meisha wins and Ronda is ready to fight for a title shot without having to fight at least one fight before being gifted a shot. Sad.

If Holly Holm fights Rousey for the #1 contender spot, what does Tate do? Twiddle her fingers? As UFC fans we should be glad that they're having another title fight instead of shelving away the champion. And the UFC wants Rousey vs. HH 2, that's the fight they wanted to make because they know it's a big money fight, but Ronda wanted to take time off and Holm wanted to fight. I for one am glad that the champs in the women's BW division want to be active and that the UFC isn't shelving them.

The UFC wants the Holm vs. Rousey fight, not to avoid it. It's clear Rousey isn't going to be around forever, but that's still a massive fight. They probably want to protect Holm, and give her a bounceback fight.

I think they match her up with Pennington or Correia. Credible fights, favourable matchups.

Tate fights Rousey or probably waits.

Nunes probably has to wait until the Tate/Rousey/Holm mix resolves, which is fine. She's not some juggernaut being held back from her destiny. She's won three fights in a row. Two of them were Shayna Baszler and Sara McMann. Pump the brakes a little.

Wouldn't be surprised if Pena leapfrogs her in the near future. Is Pena vs. Tate something that would never happen? Pena vs. Nunes could set the winner up as a very strong contender.

I've may have made this division seem a lot more interesting than it is.

Tate fights Nunes.

They are talking about Tate Rousey in the fall....that is shelving the champ. If it happens at 200 then fine.

That's what she's asking for....out of left field. I'd watch Holly and Cyborg at 200. Holly is asking for it at any weight.

They can try to feed Holly to who ever, but in 3 rounds, she's a lot more dangerous. Those two championship rounds are the most advantageous rounds for wrestlers. Holly's take down defense is fantastic, and in three rounds I don't think she'll have a problem stuffing take downs and punching for points.

That said, if Cyborg does come down to face her...oh man...that's a war.

Sounds like Dana may be rethinking waiting for Rousey and might be giving Holly v Tate at 200. Dana changes his mind more than my wife.

Too bad for Nunes.

With Connor/Aldo 2 probably, Ultimate Rematch Championship.

Much rather have Tate/Nunes and Holm/Pena or somebody. And Conor/Frankie of course.

An immediate rematch for Holly Holm would be such a joke.

Ugh, was hoping the ufc was getting away from that. The worst part is that they seem to be doing rematches for decisive victories and finishes as opposed to close or controversial fights. Seriously, Dillashaw/Cruz was one of the closest fights ever and Lawler/Condit was downright controversial. Doesn't seem like either of those rematches will happen right away.

Meanwhile Aldo/Conor, Tate/Holm, Weidman/Rockhold and Cain/Werdum were all finishes and decisive and scheduled for immediate rematches.

I don't get what they're doing.

Unless it's Honda. I think they both need to fight each other for #1 contender and let someone else step up. I don't know who but neither Ronda nor Holm deserves another shot at the title without a #1 contender's fight.

For me, it's more part decisiveness and part merit. The only rematch I would be OK with despite being a decisive loss is the Aldo/Conor one. I know some of you would disagree with me but I strongly feel, based on Aldo's dominance, record and reign, he's deserving of a rematch. I believe that 100%.

My opinion...Aldo deserves it, but only based on the precedent the ufc has set where almost every champion gets an immediate rematch.

He wouldn't get it in my ideal world. Then again I was arguing here back in the day that Anderson didn't deserve an immediate rematch with Weidman so I'm more extreme than most about this.

I hate that you pretty much have to beat a champion twice to be able to move on.

I too hate this precedence and there are few things more decisive than a KO (esp a 13s one) so I get it if Aldo doesn't get his rematch. However, he deserves it. Is deserving it, enough to get a rematch? Not when you look at the inconsistent nature of past title shots. But I do hope he gets one because he's been a champ for so long, he's built a legacy, he's was a P4P king and he's dominated almost all the challengers to the title.

Seems backwards to me to. Especially Dillashaw/Cruz because Faber? meh. Assunção been hurt, etc, there's no one else that is super deserving. To be fair, Weidman only got it because Romero tested positive. I thought Condit won, but I didn't think he deserved the shot in the first place, so that's a bit of a tough one for me.

I agree, I don't think being a long time champ should get you a rematch. Rematch should be for controversial fights or for really close ones and there's not another great option. Just in general, matchmaking being at the whim of the promoter is one of my biggest gripes with MMA, it's just not an issue in team sports (or most individual sports, like wrestling, tennis, golf, whatever).

You sure about the Romero thing? That was not a done deal from what I recall.

It was never official, but everything seemed to be pointing that way (for instance).
