It's my personal opinion that Jennings was becoming somewhat of an "issue" with the team. Ever since he made his self-serving comments regarding the lack of leadership now in comparison to how he took over the leadership role the previous season after Smith was let go I was getting that feeling. Coincidentally BJ played like straight garbage every game except the first one after he decided to start a frenzy with the media over "leadership". I was thrilled when he got dealt to Orlando as part of that deal.

i don't think it was really much of a issue publicly to each other, but i do think

1.) It impacted RJ mentally, and i think thats just human nature. He coincidentally has been playing better since the trade
2.) It left a question on the entire teams mind, when RJ would have bad games. Though never spoken, it obviously made some impact

I don't think it's a coincidence, and I don't think it's because BJ is gone. It's because of Harris.

Obviously Harris has been a great addition, but I think there were some issues with Jennings as well.

BJ speaking out about lack of leadership was a direct insult to RJ.

If you think that's all there is to it then youre crazy - it would have been building and building for a while before BJ said anything publicly.

Methinks BJ was telling RJ to act a certain way and RJ wasn't playing that and instead did what SVG wanted...which is why BJ got traded.

IF BJ was being a good soldier and his comment was merely a one off thing then he would have stayed past the deadline - look at the gaping hole we've got at guard now!

Stan didn't give a **** about lack of depth because BJ was poisoning the culture so he's gone.

Maybe it's me, but I'd rather have Tobias Harris than this year's version of BJ even on his BEST behavior, and I really had become a fan of BJ. So I'm gonna have to disagree with the drama being a major part. It's not much of a gaping hole when close to the trading deadline BJ's play had dropped off to the point where it was questionable whether he was even better than Blake. So the upgrade over Ersan is triple the downgrade from BJ.

The team has played better since the trade. Harris has posted big minutes, good numbers, and quickly claimed a starting role. BJ continues to languish on the bench in Orlando. I don't think he ever said anything while in Det. that wasn't an honest response to a question. I don't recall him ever throwing a fellow player under the bus. He talked about the team in basketball generalities, and was completely professional. Admittedly a small number of games, so far the trade has been great for the Pistons. Blake has been fine, and the shorthanded team seems to be playing with better chemistry. Real good trade, so far. :D

I agree 100%. I missed the "no leadership" statement from BJ and also never bothered to read the story. But he wasn't necessarily lying. So I'm not seeing where there was this big drama and he just had to go because of that. I think what's going on on the court is the true determining factor of why the trade was made.

Well he was basically taking a veiled shot at Reggie with his "statement", he caused a media firestorm because we all know how much they love drama, and all that basically did nothing except cause a distraction for everyone involved in my opinion.

We need a Charlotte thread already. This is a big game, and it starts in like 5 hours.

No doubt man... BIG one. Hopefully the KCP and Reggie combo can keep Walker in check to some extent. Can't have him blowing by us and living in the lane all night. I'm assuming KCP will be on him the majority of the time.

On a side note I see they changed the Pistons logo on here... Never been a fan of this P with the little D in the middle... I much prefer the logo with the basketball.
