Lakers only down by two to the cavs right now. This is the first season I've ever rooted for the lakers to win games.

They won't catch us, both teams (Them and our FO anyway) need them to get a top 3 pick.

But if they don't we will have a better chance beating them over the next 10 years, so I hope either they get the #3 pick (and we get one of the top two), or drop out of top 3. Even if they finish 2nd worst, they still only have a little more than a coin flip chance at a top 3 pick.

Brooklyn won both games over us with no remaining games.
Minny is 1-1 against us with 2 more to go.

If we finish with a tie on either team, do they go by 'head to head' or a coin flip to determine lottery positioning? I know the NFL goes by head to head and, realistically, that's how all sports should do it.

We have a 1.5 game lead on BKN and 3 game lead on Minny.

Brooklyn - 44 games played
Minnesota - 45 games played
Phoenix - 45 games played

The biggest advantage for us is that the Nets have no incentive to lose.
However, they severely lack talent.
The Wolves front office might "rest" key guys near the end if they remain close to a high pick. They know that adding another high pick can potentially lead to them being a major contender for the next decade OR allow them to trade the pick for a star.

Games to keep an eye on for tonite:
Nets -76ers. Go Nets, we are not catching Philly.
Jazz - Wizzards. Go Jazz, they might even get a better overall record than the Wizzards when all said and done, which would be another good outcome for our pick.
Charlotte-Detroit: Go Pistons, get some seperation on the Wizzards.
Miami-Bulls: Go Bulls, also to get some separation on the Wizzards.

Phoenix Suns (23-59)

No. 1 pick odds: 13.9 percent
Top-3 pick odds: 42.5 percent
Most likely spot: No. 3

Key trade: Phoenix gets Washington's pick if it falls outside the top 10.

Whom Phoenix should draft with the ...

No. 1 pick: Ben Simmons
No. 2 pick: Brandon Ingram
No. 3 pick: Dragan Bender

Most likely pick: Dragan Bender, F/C, Croatia

Bender would be a long-term upgrade over Markieff Morris, the guy the Suns just shipped away. He's bigger and a better shooter and he doesn't have the off-court baggage.

Alternative pick: Henry Ellenson, PF, Fr., Marquette

Washington Wizards (39-43)

No. 1 pick odds: 0.6 percent
Top-3 pick odds: 2.3 percent
Most likely spot: No. 12

Key trade: Washington will send its first-round pick to Phoenix if it falls outside the top 10.

Whom Washington should draft with the ...

No. 1 pick: Ben Simmons
No. 2 pick: Brandon Ingram
No. 3 pick: Dragan Bender

Most likely pick (Phoenix): Deyonta Davis, PF, Fr., Michigan State

The Suns will get this pick if it falls to its likely position at 13. Davis is a terrific athlete, shot-blocker and defender. His offense, however, is still emerging.

Alternative pick: Dragan Bender, F/C, Croatia

Damn that's a lazy column. First of all, it should say Washington pick goes to Phx if outside top 9. He missed that twice. And then alternative pick with Washington pick is Bender? OK.

I think he has our odds for #1 pick wrong too. I think that should be 15.6%

In the case of a tie, both teams split the lottery numbers assigned. If they fall out of the top 3, a coin flip determins which team will pick before the other.

Brooklyn.

I've never seen a team this bad without incentive to tank.

At least Minnesota won to distance us from possibly falling to 5th. Dieng with 25, 9, 3 blocks 2 steals and an assist, including 11-11 from the line. I mean, damn.

Rubio also with 13, 12 ast, 8 boards, including 3 3's...I guess he did ok shooting tonight.

Dieng is basically what we wish Len becomes, from the same draft class but more than 3 years older but way farther in his development and is nearly a finished product. Minny ain't that far away

Yeah, I know, I was thinking of that while I posted it. Everyone talks about Gobert and Noel, but Dieng looks dang good too.

I can't believe that Brooklyn couldn't beat Philly. :banghead:

Maybe they'll get pissed/embarrassed and play a bit better.

Nets ruined a good night. Washington has to be the most dissapointing team in the league this year.
