About time we won in the draft.
I was browsing a couple of other teams forums and saw that the Magic have a thread for Booker. A couple of them are mad that they passed on him and took Mario. Most of them feel like Mario will have the better career and he would replicate Booker's numbers or even surpass them if he was given the opportunity that Booker has gotten. I didn't want to say anything because it's their forum, but I feel like a lot of fans just aren't watching Booker play and are only looking at stats.
To be fair, though, we haven't seen much of Hezonja as well. The little I've seen, I can understand why they are comparable. He also has Booker's ability to create his own offense and has bigger size and defensive potential. I'd say Booker has the better intangibles/attitude. We hear him getting praise from vets all the time about how they like his game and he doesn't back down and so on.
Good for Hezonja. I understand the ridicule of Booker from those guys, I mean a man goes 7-19 with some tough non calls on "blocks" and still puts up 18 and 11 against one of the greatest teams in history as a 19 year old and someone wants to post an emoticon ROFLMA to act as if he had sucked that game, is incredible but expected.
I don't care what anyone says about too early or too little sample size of Booker's game, I know he has the goods and he will be an elite player and POSSIBLY a #1 option and that puts a smile on my face every time I go to bed at night after watching a Suns game; detractors be damned.
