Most fun game of the season. We looked like a real team out there. Seems like chemistry is starting to build. Len is such an underrated passer. I wish more teammates would cut so he could demonstrate that more.

Don't worry, TJ will be back next year. :) Teams will get burned by that backdoor quite a few times - trust me!

Next game:

Towns/Dieng v Len
Lavine/Wiggins v Booker

Happy to get the W, if they score 20+ each.

I keep reading comments about 'stiffness', but I'm not seeing it; need to keep things in perspective. Len is never going to look like Bledsoe, or (insert name here) Guard or SF. But as a 7'1" guy?? He's pretty darn mobile!

Len also has a very nice arc and stroke to his shot; something you don't often see from 7' guys. I wonder how much time and effort Hornacek provided as a 'shooting coach' for Len.

Anyway, Len, Warren, or Goodwin may never become All-NBA-level players, but Len very well could if he remains healthy for an entire season when we are in the Playoff hunt in a year or two. Warren likely is what he is, but he's a great contributor. Just needs more effort on D from what little I've seen.

And I REALLY hope we keep Goodwin. I think he is highly underrated by fans here. It's funny, but if you extrapolate his 8 minutes to 32 minutes from last night, and he has a 20 pt/16 asst/ 12 TRB stat line--Triple-Double, anyone?! And yes, I know that's incredibly inaccurate and simply not likely feasible. I just bring that up because I feel Goodwin's turned the proverbial corner this season, and is making the most of the minutes he's provided--be it 8 minutes or 38 minutes. He's a solid rotational piece, and IMO, probably a top 3 Sun's player in the 'bang for your buck' department, behind Booker and Len, and on par with Warren (he's making roughly half as much as Warren, and provided LEAST half of Warren's production/value, when Warren was healthy).

Future looks pretty darn bright, IMO. (cue Frank with a post about 'Rose-Colored Glasses')

So how much would you pay or match Archie next summer if we still have Bledsoe, Knight, Booker and Bogdan (and maybe someone we draft).

Taking the plus-up in Cap into consideration, and the fact that I would give Bogdan a lot more minutes as a bench 3 than bench 2, I'd say about $6M per, for another 5 years, making it a 5yr/$30M contract, considering again, the bump up from now ($63M) to $70M this upcoming season, and projected $19M bump to $89M next summer. What I would pay now ($4M) will be equivalent to about $6M then.

What do you think? From what I gather, you are not a big Goodwin fan, so I assume you'd rather we just let him walk? Or is there a number you have in mind? Considering we don't know how Bogdan will play for us, and assuming those are the only Guards we have on the roster, wouldn't it be wise to at least have a 'competetive' offer for him on the table?

I'll give him one more year to make my full assessment given his age, but I'd include him in a deal prior to then without hesitation. As for paying him, if we still have all of our guards, I'd probably let him walk, especially with all of our draft picks coming up. I sure wouldn't want to use $6 million of the cap on him at a position we are loaded at.

Still a great effort by our team. A great game but we protected the tank.

Not according to the GS announcers. They felt the Warriors were playing well, and the Suns were matching that play. We just could not sustain it.

How good is the play at 2:04? :o

My favourites are at 0:24 and 1:47. Love the moves in the first, and the Booker play in the second. Awsome 2 man game - Len can roll or pop even above the FT line, if they keep this up, they will be awful hard to stop. A younger, better shooting version of the Pau/Butler thing? His passing at the 2:04 is just the gravy on the top! 8-)

That was impressive. Len can definitely play the 4. His range is now at 20 feet. The question is whether he can defend the stretch 4's of the league. It will be interesting to see how Bledsoe fits with this bunch. I am wondering if what we need as a back up c/pf. We really could use a defensive wing--a younger version of PJ.

I don't see us as being loaded at Guard. I honestly feel with Bogdan's length, he's be better at the 3, and even if at the 2, we have no idea how his game will translate. I'm hopeful, but not depending on him being better than Goodwin or Warren. And if we keep Goodwin at $6M per, that would at least open the opportunity to trade Knight. Without Goodwin as a 'safety net', that's much more daunting, and I can't believe that McD and Watson don't see the same inefficiency in Knight's game that us fans can see, and to me, if it's between paying Goodwin $6M, or Knight $14M, I'm taking Goodwin every time.

Then, remember that Goodwin I still only 21 and younger than, say, Kris Dunn who is coming out this year, or Buddy Hield, or Demetrius Jackson...and we have no idea if they'll ever develop. At least we know that Goodwin is good enough to be bench combo guard. And that's huge, IMO, to have a guy that can hold down the fort at either position, and is, at worst, an 8th man in a rotation.

And one more thing: Goodwin actually has the length, if needed in a pinch, to play the 3-- 6' 5.5" , 190 , 6' 9.5" Wingspan , 8' 6" Reach--numbers very similar to Warren, other than height (.75" less Wingspan/2" shorter Reach, but 3" advantage in Standing Vert), and PJ is only 6' 5" a well. Not saying it's a great idea, just not impossible.

With Goodwin's Age, Measurements, Improvement, and Versatility, I wouldn't bat an eyelash if he's signed to an extension for $6M per. At least we know his game translates; something we don't know with Bogdan, or the 3 Guard Draft Prospects I listed above. I don't see us as being overly 'stacked' at Guard, unless we are counting Bogdan strictly as a 2, and Price/Jenkins, but to me, Goodwin is the better option than any of them...at least right now he is.

Booker/Goodwin
Warren/Tucker/Bogdan

Chandler/Len/(Draft Pick, I hope)

You'd be hard pressed to get him for $6M/yr under the current salary cap, much less after it jumps.
