I think this is general board material. Kemba deserves some love from other fanbases, he's earned it.

He's earned my respect...not only because of his obvious skills, but he is a leader and a great teammate.

Have to hand it to Kemba, I didn't think he would improve much more than what he was the past few seasons. I'm glad to see him take the leap. I'll eat crow!

A +21.6 net rating for as many ninutes as he play on the floor is freaking insane.

Yep. And it totally matches the eye test. We futz around in the third and start of the fourth quarter, then put Kemba in and we blow the game open. He is unguardable right now.

I will also accept a bit of crow for my concerns about Kemba getting to this level. He still has to demonstrate the consistency needed across a full season, then multiple seasons, to wear the belt. However, he has been on quite a run and the biggest factor in team success. Congrats Kemba. Keep it going!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Leap Year - The Kemba Walker Thread III
Awesome news for Kemba.
He deserves his success this season, he's a lock for all-star next season as long as he plays at 80 percent of what he's been doing since ASB.

Kemba's last five games: 36.7 mpg, 14.4 ppg, 32.5% FG, 27.3% 3PT, 42.8% TS, 3.8 ast, 5.2 rbs, 1.6 to
Something is going on, that shooting efficiency has been a train wreck.

Was just coming here to post same thing, was gonna use past 6 games (since being named EC player of week on 3/14).
Perhaps he got so hot there for a while, he lost some concentration on his fundamentals and also starting taking some bad shots (shots that while he was hot were still not great shots, but he was making).
Would be nice if he and Lin could get hot at the same time.
Last 3 games have been particularly brutal - 2-for-18 from 3.
Good news, he hasn't really had a game where he forced his offense at the expense of not running the offense. Most of his shots have been in the flow or an attempt at trying to get something started or a dagger of sorts.
He's also been getting to the FT line less in this stretch, maybe settling for too many 3. Needs to get to the rim, get to line to get rhythm.

Was it a knee problem? Or just what goes up must come down?
What's amazing is that, except for the Augustus game, the team won every game, tough ones.

Re: Leap Year - The Kemba Walker Thread III
How a slight shooting adjustment unlocked Kemba Walker's potential
Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker made a slight adjustment to his jump shot. As he brought the basketball up to shoot, he moved the ball just a few inches to his right, away from his face.
Sounds like a simple change. But it’s not, not when a player has been shooting that way for years.
“It was tough especially early on when I wasn’t making shots during the summer,” Walker said. “I said, ‘I can’t do it. I’m going back to my old shot.’ I was having doubts.”
But Hornets shooting coach Bruce Kreutzer, who identified the flaw and revealed it to Walker through film, encouraged the pupil to stick with the new shot.
“I had a few games early in the season where the shot felt so good, and I just stuck with it,” Walker said.
The proof is in the percentages. Walker is shooting career-highs from the field (42.9%) and three-pointers (37.1%, up from 30.4% last season) and averaging career-highs in points (21), rebounds (4.5).

If Kemba Walker does not deserve the Most Improved Player award this year, I don't know who does.
