I wasn't a huge Simmons guy before. This only makes me more comfortable landing in another direction this summer.

I would be more than content picking Ingram if we got the 2nd overall pick in the draft.

I wouldn't have enough balls to draft either Ingram or Bender #1, but I'd be happier selecting any one of them #2 or #3 than getting #1 pick and having to choose Ingram/Simmons or Simmons dropping to 2/3. This may sound incredibly stupid, but that's how I feel.
Anyhow, the agent news sheds a new light on LeBron/Simmons lovefest back in December.

Simmons’ box scores have grown increasingly hollow. One NBA executive described him as a “taller Rajon Rondo, a more athletic Evan Turner, or a skinnier Royce White.” Simmons has displayed a penchant for stat-mongering like few players in recent memory, seeming to pad his numbers in blowouts. At times, it appears he only passes when guaranteed an assist and chases home-run plays at inopportune times in search of a highlight. Simmons seems to value those things over winning.

I had Ingram ahead of Simmons since July last year.

The thing that scares me about Ingram @ #1 is his low floor due to his low weight. There is some chance of reaching for potential like Detroit did with Darko over star-but-not-generational Melo.
It is not completely rational, but I'd bet Hinkie felt the same way picking Okafor over Porzingis last season. Phil Jackson was probably pretty happy when Philly selected Okafor so he could take Porzingis without that type of risk.
I love the idea of Bender on this Celtics team with Stevens. But I doubt McDonough lets him get past Phoenix unless there is a high pressure from Sarver to win now.
Bender is one year ahead of schedule since he was 14 (played u16 with 14, u17 with 15, u18 with 16, pro with 17), so that year will have to be accounted for in his NBA first year. He's (almost to the date) two years younger than KAT, 1 year and 10 months than Zinger, yet there would be only one year between them getting drafted.Fischella wrote:Givony runs a hype machine, he is just adjusting to what many have been saying for months on the forums, he goes with the wind that blows the strongest always, plus discrepancy and all that is always good for clickbaiting.

My opinion is that Givony guys really doesn't like Simmons, but he can't say it due to the general public.

If the Celtics want another big that can't rebound (see Zeller & KO), then Poeltl would be their guy.
If his rebounding was better, I would consider him, but it's pretty bad for a guy his height. Oregon just blew his team out and he was a joke on the glass.
