It's bad. What's also kind of sad is that with our vets busting their asses for once we can still barely beat a pretty awful Minnesota team at home.

PJ isn't the hardest working guy on the team. He was out of shape coming back off of a newly signed contract, so no. Actually Knight might be the hardest worker hilariously enough. Since when does sucking get you so much slack? People think Ronnie Price is a great defender because he pressures the ball constantly despite every advanced number suggesting otherwise. People think PJ is a winner who works harder than everyone because he does dirty work. Guess what? If PJ didn't do dirty work like get rebounds, he simply wouldn't even be in the league.

If the Suns sign me and I try really hard, mostly fail consistently, and have the occasional game where I play well, get an unheard of DUI after signing my contract extension, and pound nachos courtside while following it up with a down year, will people anoint me a winner and consummate professional at the NBA level so long as I only get the DUI once every 3 years? Great deal. Man, it sucks to be held to the standard of actually being a good player.

Truth is PJ doesn't care about scoring because he is one of the worst players in basketball at it. Accordingly he does dirty work out of necessity. Since most players care more about scoring, PJ gets drastically overrated in every non-numerical category like "effort", "professionalism", "winner's mentality" and "leadership" even though history shows effort might be the only, and I mean, only one of those things he actually does.

Well McD apparently likes him since he keeps wanting to hang onto him.

Which sucks. He needs to be moved. The real problem is that when he's on the team, the coach plays him, even though Warren has been better all year and our goals as a franchise clearly favor not playing him. And if we keep him next year, he'll be playing again ahead of Warren and also prevent Bogdan or Booker from stealing some minutes at the 3, all of which hurts our franchise.

He's a very poor man's Pat Beverly at the SF position. Pat doesn't get credited with being a leader or some untouchable professional. And he's a much better player. I just have 0 idea how PJ gets so much credit from people on here. Sucking but doing dirty work because somebody is paying you $5.5 million a year and you aren't capable of doing more than dirty work is not some glorious accomplishment that should be lauded by the fan base.

PJ isn't a professional. He's an irresponsible vet who the team gave a chance to come back in the league. He rewarded us by contributing mightily to getting record amounts of technicals that remove us from playoff contention in one season, follows it up by getting a crazy DUI after getting rewarded with a new contract by said team, and has been the one vet who has been here and healthy during the franchise's downfall. Seriously, how is he a leader? When has he been a leader at any level with any team? He wasn't even this well thought of by fans at Texas, where he was actually good for a college player.

The absence of effort by people who are being unbelievably unprofessional (hello Tyson for 1/2 the season) doesn't somehow make PJ's something to be praised. On any other team it wouldn't be noticed. It is literally the minimum expectation of somebody who is highly paid to play basketball for a living.

Well I didn't call him a leader. He's not my favorite player and I'd rather Warren play, but I'm guessing PJ starts again next year. I don't really want to keep him past the deadline but I wouldn't be surprised if we are still hanging around the playoff race if we kept him.

I'd MUCH rather get rid of Knight, because I think he drastically could hamper playing time for Booker, Bogdan, etc, and he REALLY can take our team out of games by shooting tons of shots, turning it over a ton, and not passing as much as he should.

At least Tucker is pretty unselfish and plays more within the team concept.

Of course they beat OKC and lose to us. At least they won one I guess. We better lose in our other game against them though.

Completely inexcusable win on the back of our stopgap vets, I agree with Athe for once. Although Knight deserves all the hate he gets, even moreso than PJ who is at least a serviceable role player

On a better note, Alex Len with his 9th straight double digit rebounding game. Len has been an animal since the all-star game!

The whole starting front court had double digit rebounding. When was the last time they did that? :o Tucker with a killer game 23/11/5/2, man he sucks.

The Suns still have more losses than the Nets and are three full games worse than the Timberwolves. They still hold the third slot in the draft. That being said, the way this game was played was disappointing. I am running out of words to describe Knight's incompetence. This guy is on a different planet with his selfishness and stupidity. I think Booker hates him. You can see it in the team's body language. They are surprised when Knight passes the ball.

The Suns front office needs to sit Knight down and tell him that Booker and Len are the alpha dogs now and you are a role player. I do not care how much money he makes. His horrible isolations and poor decision making hold back the development of Booker and Len. It is obvious. McDonough sure looks like he got it wrong with the Knight acquisition.

Btw, I know Tucker had a great stat line, but there was one play in the fourth quarter that spotlighted how stupid he is. When the Suns had a fast break and it was three on one under the hoop and Leuer was trailing with his hands up, all Tucker needed to do was pass him the ball for an easy dunk/layup. Instead he drove straight at the defender and missed the shot and missed the put backs too and the Suns did not score. It was a basic basketball play and Tucker was unable to execute it. I said this before and I will say it again now. I think getting rid of Tucker this offseason is a major key towards changing the culture of the Phoenix Suns and distancing themselves from the last remaining link of the Lance Blanks era.

To make ya guys feel better Nets play Sixers tomorrow night and then the following night. They don't have Okafor so I expect a two game win streak for the Nets!

15 games left. (8 away, 7 home)

Only 3 against top seeds (Bos, Atl, LAC)
Only 2 against other playoff teams (Memphis and Houston)

10 games against lottery competition:
-Lakers twice
-Minnesota again
-Utah x2, Sac x2, Bucks, Wizzards, NOP

Our schedule is super easy. Especially when you consider the Clippers could rest against us in the final game of the year.

Realistically, we could finish the season going .500 :banghead:

BK and Minnesota could easily catch us. :banghead:

Cry me a freakin river we won a game.

Go Suns.

You are a terrible fan if you think a team who works their butts off for a win shouldn't because you want more lottery balls. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am that the NBA is run by basketball minds who know that lotto balls aren't the be all and end all.

It is the most immature and asinine crap actively cheering for a team to tank.

Teams are constructed to win less games than other teams, but teams will never be constructed to LOSE basketball games. There is a big difference.

Embrace a good win in a lost season and stop complaining about hypotheticals. Just because a PJ and Tyson were the ones who helped us win tonight doesn't mean it's suddenly a lost game for guys like Book and Len. Wins help develop players even when they have bad games. Ping pong balls don't decide our future. The attitude, standards and culture set now do.

Unless any of you would like to take the Suns head coaching job and try and develop a team with a bunch of losers. I hear they're taking applications.

A bizzare time to call for PJ's head. I'm sure 29 other GMs would gladly take him for you.

PJ certainly isn't a great player by many metrics, but hustle is infectious. Teams win with the mentality of guys like PJ.

Price on the other hand, god knows why anyone thinks he adds value on the court. Full court pressure and getting blown by every possession doesn't make you a defensive specialist. I'm sure he adds a great deal to the locker room however.

This is just hilariously wrong. Plenty of teams tank. The NBA was run by people who allowed the Sixers to happen for years, and then forced them to take on Colangelo, who has not helped in the slightest.

I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am that the NBA is not run how you say, and that we have fans and a GM who realizes that tanking is our best move at this point in the season.
