Playoff seeding

Post#1 » by Grangerous » Wed Mar 16, 2016 3:03 am

Just something to think about. What spot would be best for us? 1 and 2 are locked up Cavs and Raptors.. imo we want to get 3,6 or 7.. We could have a shot making it to conference finals. Try to avoid Cavs by staying out of the 4/5 matchup.. of course I don't want to see any intentional losses and would be happy with a higher seeding. I just think getting that 6 or 7 spot gives us a better chance to watch this team longer

agree and think it is achievable. we have 5 more home games than road games left on the schedule while the teams ahead of us mostly have fairly balanced schedules left. I'd be very happy being 6 and playing the Celts without home court. the only thing that scares me about Boston is Brad Stevens. Isiah Thomas is a hard cover but maybe Lawson will help there.

I don't think Thomas would be that tough of a cover for us. We can put PG on him for stretches since Bradley/Crowder are more spot up guys that Ellis/Hill could cover decently. Or if they're using Turner, just pack the paint and let him shoot jumpers.

Where we'd run into possible issues with Boston is our bigs. Ours are better, but both Olynyk/Sullinger will play outside and we don't really have a guy who is mobile enough to defend the 3 well, though Solo could be that guy for one of them.

Yeah we had some problems with him last night, but those basically stopped once Vogel put George on him in the 2nd half. He's a great player, so he's still going to cause issues, but I'd hope if we play them Vogel uses George on him soon instead of waiting like he did with Teague a few years back.
