You mean they couldn't pay the 50 people that remove all removable seating the scorer's table and cover the ice with plywood, raise the nets and set up the boards and glass? Sounds so expensive.

When your tenant struggles to make payroll to the actual players on their roster? Then yeah, paying a 50-man crew forty times a year runs with some cost you may not be able to afford.

The Admirals don't pay the full salary of most of the players. The Predators pay all the salaries of certain players and split with the Admirals on others. The only time the Admirals pay the full salary of a player is if they go out and sign a player on their own, which they rarely do.

Work has begun to prepare the Park East strip for development tied to the new Milwaukee Bucks arena, a project that will create temporary traffic congestion for some downtown drivers.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation this week started the $3.9 million project, said department spokesman Mike Pyritz.

A state-owned storm water sewer, which runs beneath former freeway land between W. Juneau and W. McKinley avenues, will be removed.

Removing that sewer line, which runs from N. 8th to N. Old World 3rd streets, will help clear the way for future development projects in the Park East strip.

That includes the arena parking structure, and its adjacent retail and office space, that will be between N. 6th St. and the future N. 5th St., and the Bucks practice facility west of N. 6th St. Construction of the both the parking structure and practice facility is to begin this summer.

A Bucks affiliate, Head of the Herd LLC, also has long-range plans for apartments, a supermarket and other commercial space on the Park East blocks between N. 5th and N. Old World 3rd streets.

The old sewer line will be removed after the new one is built beneath McKinley Ave., Pyritz said. The entire project is be completed by mid-June, he said Tuesday.

Some lanes of McKinley Ave., between I-43 and N. Old World 3rd St., are being closed during the project.

The street, which replaced the former Park East Freeway, is a main route in and out of downtown — particularly during the morning and afternoon rush hours, and for events at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The project's main contractor is Manitowoc-based Vinton Construction Co., Pyritz said.

This looks pretty cool. Excited to see some more detail from the inside and a bit more info rather then just an outdoor area with a bunch of wisconsinites standing around the fire drinking and watching the socceroos.
@mkebucksaus just kicking off. Give it a follow!

It looks like a cheap knockoff of Bàrclays Center, which also looks hideous.
