Pistons Signing Lorenzo Brown

Shan's just tweeted it. Back to carrying 4 PG's. Dinwiddie must look BAD in practice for this to happen.

Dude I was typing mine up but by the time I hit send you had already posted this haha. I've put up some links to his stats, draft profile, and the report confirming it. Did you just want to copy and paste that into yours and I'll get mine deleted? Just thought it would make it easier for everyone

This is only so they can have 3 teams of 5 in practice. We won't ever see him, doesn't mean Dinwiddie looks bad either (although I could see it after not playing at the NBA level for months).

Welp, as per our terrible luck, Reggie didn't practice today and is at the doctor for sinus issues/feeling sick. Brown signing is insurance for when we roll with Blake and Dinwiddie...dear god, it's all coming to an end.

You're giving Stan more credit than he's due with that statement.

Doesn't sound like Reggie's issue should be too long.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Dinwiddie is worse than Brown, plain and simple

Reggie is doubtful for the Sac game due to breathing issues. Brown and dinwiddie will be backing up Blake if reggie can't play :nonono:

If we had picked up McCallum when I wanted to, wouldn't have this issue...

That would have been nice, wouldn't it.

Browns not that bad, he knows the Pistons system. Young enough to make Dinwiddle expendable. But hes also available for a reason, i wouldn't go nuts on how great he''ll be.

It really sucks that dinwiddie hasn't come on like we hoped. The fact that he can't be relied on for back up minutes is pretty disappointing. I can't expect too much from a young 2nd rounder, but he showed some glimpses earlier, but nothing since.
We desperately need a back up pg this offseason

Goodbye Lorenzo!

Will we sign a 15th roster player?

unless an injury, no. They probably just wanted to see him up close in practice. He'll probably get a camp invite and join Grand Rapids again next year.

Man, we need a better distributing young PG off the bench, I'm guessing Brown really didn't impress.

I wouldn't be surprised we signed somebody here - just to have them in the off-season and then to control to the D-League as an affiliate player. I could see Justin Harper re-signed for ROS and then partially guaranteed deal - structured like the Quincey Miller deal. Harper signs it because he gets some guaranteed money next season($200Kish) outside of the $25K D-League contract pittance and a path to making the roster and working out with team/coaches/facility in off-season.

I swear I read in some place on Internet a guy talking about Quincy Miller as our future starting SF... WORD.

Return to Detroit Pistons
