Top 5 PGs
Obviously Curry, Westbrook and Paul are locks in the top 5. I am curious about peoples other choices in the top 5 for this season. You can make 2 selections in the poll.

I don't know if it's "obvious" that paul is better than lowry this season.
But yes, these 4 guys + lillard are the top5

Re: Top 5 PGs
Lowry is an easy #4, though I do disagree with the notion that he is better than CP3 (I don't think it's even much of a debate, tbh). CP3 is much closer to being better than Westbrook than being worse than Lowry in my eyes, I mean is the slow start in November (which has been averaged out already by this point) really that big of a deal? There is a massive difference in the quality of playmaking between CP3 and Lowry this season, much larger than any gap between their scoring.
As for 5th, I actually like Wall a bit more than Lillard, though Lillard does have much more explosive stats (I could flip back to Lillard). Self admittedly, both guys have pretty bleh teams and Lillard is carrying his to a better record, but CJ is doing some serious work while Wall doesn't have Beal along with him.

Re: Top 5 PGs
For the record I am a Wizards fan and have incurred the wrath of Wizards homers when I say Wall isn't a top 5 pg. He could be an elite pg but his poor shooting/shot selection/turnovers are holding him back.

He has always been underrated because he is short. Very skilled player. Nice to see him make the All-Star game.
I like Wall but he sure does frustrate me at times. He had 8 turnovers last night and 9 so far tonight.

Lowry is a lock at 4.
Leaning Lillard over Wall for 5th.

Re: Top 5 PGs
Rondo and Rubio aren't included in the poll. Both of them having better seasons than anyone but Curry, Westbrook, Paul & Lowry -- good enough that I'd have to list a top 6.
Wall's a tier below Lowry, Rondo and Rubio. On this season, he's not quite at Kemba's productivity level. And he's not nearly as good as Westbrook or Paul.
What would it take for him to be as productive as Lowry - which would get him into the top #5 PGs in the league? It's pretty straightforward. Every 40 minutes Lowry commits 3.1 turnovers and gets 2.3 steals. That's a minus .8. Every 40 minutes Wall commits 4.5 turnovers and gets 2.2 steals. That's a negative 2.3. If Wall had as few TOs as Lowry, that'd close most of the gap between them.
Lowry also gets to the line 6.8 times every 40 minutes, and he shoots almost 84%. Wall gets to the line 5.1 times, and he shoots 78%. Closing both those two gaps would also help.
Finally, Lowry is a *much* better shooter -- 3's and 2's. Wall shoots 5 more 2-pt. shots than Lowry every 40 minutes, but he only makes 2.2 more of them. His efficiency is very low on that delta.

Nah.... Lillard is over-rated, as is typical for guys who score a lot of points. He's an awfully good player, sure, but there are too many things he doesn't do.
Conley, Thomas and Wall are very close. Lillard a meaningful bit under them in productivity.
OTOH, on my first visit to this forum, I do see that you have an awesome GIF, SlowPaced. Good enough that it's possible you are correct in pretty much anything you post!

Re: Top 5 PGs
Does Giannis belong in this conversation if he keeps up what he is doing now? Or would you guys not include him in these kind of debates because he doesn't guard PG's?

Lowry for sure.
I think Wall is better than Lillard. Though those are the next 2.
