I guess MIL or CHI could be interested, although they probably wont give up much, getting a big offer for him its unlikely but come 2017 offseason you are going to lose him or Schröder and you will get even less in FEB, so the team must move on from one this offseason.

The Sixers, Knicks and Kings are possibilities. Indiana was never a serious suitor. Who's knows what may happen. Keeping Teague isn't a bad option even if he walks. That two headed monster at PG is pretty good for us.

The Knicks are going to go in the opposite direction, probably move out from Anthony and build around KP, 76ers could have interest in Schröder, doubt they will in Teague who will likely walk out in a year from them.
Kings are a possibility, but again they wont have much tooffer, and I wont deal out a top10 pick if I were them for a guy with only a year left in his deal.
They could likely get better options, like Bledsoe, for that same pick.

Losing Jeff for nothing would be disastrous.

I don't agree with nothing you wrote. Nothing. Like from the beginning to the end. We will see when the time comes.

I mean I think he presents valid arguments.

We're not getting a premium return for Teague from here on out unless he plays like an absolute stud PG the rest of this year. Even then, unless we get a contender that wants to go all in next year, we can't expect a whole lot. I truly believe Teague will be gone unless we want to move on from Dennis(possibly unlikely), but I don't see as big of a return as we could have got last off-season.

I think you can maybe get Koufos and the Kings pick if they want to trade out of the draft and they are like really high on Teague.
That will be the best return I can see on the table, they want to go after local boy Ryno, so adding a cheap guy like Teague will be solid and they dont care about the Draft anyway.
I will do that, Koufos doesnt shoot it, but he is solid and insurance if Al bolts, and a 9-10th pick is always a welcome addition.

10000% agreed.

Teague doesnt have a ton of value with 1 year on his deal. He will become AH from this year, decent player, but teams who want him can just wait and not have to give up assets.

Im now leaning toward Teague is here no matter what next year, because they wont get enough in value back to let him walk.

This is the problem with holding assets too long.

This offseason we should lose Hinrich (expiring), Humphries (expiring). Does anyone think they cut SPlitter? If you can keep Humphries for cheap , why not try and flip SPlitter?

Tavares I could see them letting go too

I think theyll attempt to rebuild the wings and we will see what they do with Thabo/Korver/THJ. AH leaves then anything is possible. Right now this is my gut for next year.

SAFE:
Teague
DS
PM
THJ
Thabo/Korver
AH (I think they offer him a max deal)

I think they will likely look at parting with Muscala/Scott/Tavares/Splitter. One or 2 of them will have to go.

I think they'll get rid of Muscala before they do Tavares, just because of the potential Edy has as a shear rim protector.

He's currently the tallest player in the NBA, and was already DPOY in the Spanish league, which is probably the second best league on the planet (though, the NBA is in a different stratosphere compared any other league).

Agreed. Edy has more potential than any big man currently on our roster...even if it is likely 2-3 years away.

Are we sure about this? I checked on Wikipedia and Google and could not confirm he was DPOY...

Are we thinking of Bebe who was the reigning DPOY in Spain when we dumped him for cap space?

I can't think of anything dumber than keeping both DS and Teague for another year. I'd lose all faith in Bud as personnel man if he goes that route.

DS does us no good at all spending 30 minutes a night on the bench. We have to play him or move him for value.

The only thing worse than getting little for Teague in trade (as an expiring) would be getting nothing for Teague the following summer when he walks away. Even PHX got multiple (late) picks for an expiring Dragic. Boston gpt draft picks and Jae Crowder for an expiring Rondo.

There will be value there. We just have to find it....maybe throw in a few lesser assets to get something of value.

.

You're right, I got him confused with Bebe for a second. Nonetheless, Edy was a defensive force in Spain.

I wasnt saying what I WANT. Im saying, I can see Bud re-upping with this core , I mean i think the writing is on the wall.

theyll throw all the $$ at Horford. Theyll prob let Bazemore walk and look to upgrade there.

If they didnt trade teague this past deadline , what THE **** ARE THEY GOING TO GET in July at the draft? or in FA? I cant see anything happening.

Schroeder wont "walk" though. hes going to be a RFA and we will keep him. Teague coming off the books all but insures that happens (if we dont trade him before then).

The thing that we will have to consider here this offseason is what AH thinks. I cant see us pitching Al Horford "HEY , COME PLAY WITH THE SAME TEAMMATES AGAIN NEXT YEAR WHILE EVERY OTHER TEAM IMPROVES". I think itll come down to upgrading at the 2/3 positions. I hope DS takes over, but none of the moves Bud has made indicates that hes going to part with Teague.

I can't even hate on the guy. KK's comment is just a less polite version of my "We'll revisit this at a later date" response...

Agreed. Everything Bud has done over the last 6 weeks has been with short term improvement over long term gain. Keeping Teague. Pursuing JJ. Trading for Hinrich. Bringing in Humphries.

Bud is going all-in for a strong post-season run.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that if we fall short or get swept again...he'll acknowledge this iteration really has peaked and then adjust his approach with an eye on getting younger, thus extending our window.

So...we were rumored to be in talks with ORL about a trade centered on Teague and Oladipo...

Victor Oladipo just dropped a career high 45 pts. Is avg 25 ppg over the past week plus. And is avg 20 ppg for the month of March. He also is a defensive stalwart.. Plays a position of need.

And isn't even in his prime yet...it'll be interesting to see how this turns out.

I'm choosing to believe that the magic said no to our offer for a straight up trade, instead of it being the other way around.

If Orlando was willing to accept and Bud demanded a added value, like a pick, then I want him out as GM immediately.

I don't get the point of overlooking the various flaws that Oladipo has displayed over a larger body of work to emphasize a week of good play. Secondly, with a Teague trade doesn't Dennis therefore become the starter at PG? Okay, so how does it make sense from a fit standpoint to now pair him with another undersized penetrating guard with a shaky jumper as your future foundation? Isn't that the exact issue Orlando is having between Payton and Oladipo? How is a 6'4" SG even considered a need when there are exactly 5 other players on the roster that play that exact position?

Bud (who is the President of Basketball Operations so could people stop calling him the GM because that is Wes Wilcox's job and title) made the reasonable decision. He didn't gut his playoff team for a mismatch of mid to lower tier assets just to say he got something, he held out instead for fit and/or a package he couldn't say no to. That simply wasn't offered.

This is irrelevant because both the president of basketball operations and the GM share a lot of the same duties. Do you really think Wes and Bud aren't actively engaged with eachother in discussions around the clock regarding free agents, trades, prospects, etc.? In most situations, the president has the sign off or final say if you will in decisions regarding trades anyways. So Bud is just as accountable as Wes when it comes to this stuff.

It isn't irrelevant because you surely wouldn't call a coach or owner the GM when they don't hold those exact titles despite having the same amount of input.

Your focusing too much on the title. So because Bud doesn't hold the "title" of GM means we shouldn't be critical of his hand in FA signings, trades, drafting, etc.?

I'm focusing on the title specifically because it's pure laziness to not be able to even address a member of a team you follow closely by their correct title. I've made no mention of his actual duties being somehow separate in regard to that title though, that is an argument that you are inventing on your own.

I did however respond directly to you that many members of an organization are involved in "free agents, trades prospects, etc." from the scouts to the coaches to the GMs all the way on up to the owners yet we'd take the time to refer to each by their proper titles despite many of their duties overlapping.
